1/2 Long Island remembers I-CON. I have worked for 15 of them, as well as chairing two LI-CONs run by the same nonprofit.

We've been on hiatus for a long time, now.

We're back, baby! Not with a convention just now, but back.

We're hosting a picnic at Bethpage State Park, with the Long Island Linux Users Group (LILUG).

See next message for more.

I got this towel from 1 Infinite Loop, Palo Alto in 1995-ish.
Apple was really on the ropes back then and, I’ve no doubt, my beach towel and novelty keyring purchase from that single, on-campus Apple Store helped them get through those hard times to where they are today.
No?

Digital communication.

I tried to create a loose, slightly irregular vector style.

I did in the third, last and BY FAR MOST INTERESTING task on :

https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Monads/Writer_monad#ATS

Binding of functions with optional return values is an obvious hack. It’s commonly done in , for example, by having a procedure in a chain of computations FAIL rather than RETURN.

The list monad is widely used by authors to produce a list of some Pythagorean triples. This is so easily done with just a single tail recursive function as to make the monad version pathetic. :)

In the early 2000s I made around 200 3D-style icons for a credit management software suite. Here's a small selection from that collection.

Around that time, interfaces and icons were predominantly 3D-styled, way before minimalistic graphic design became the norm.

The icons had to remain recognizable in very small sizes, down to 16 x 16 pixels, so the features needed to be pronounced.

I just wandered around for 20 minutes looking for the drink I brought in from the porch, finally gave up and poured a new one, then immediately found the first one.

Such is life.

I was initially skeptical of this story, but it proved to be real! At some point (around 18 - early 19 century) in , artists painted on... dried !

How come? TLDR: these icons were used a sort of a very special professional by a particular type of traveling . For a bit more details (and illustrations), see the thread below 👇

I'll start off my first -real- post with, well, me!

This is the third ref sheet I've gotten for myself, back in 2020 and made by Isvoc over at http://isvoc-art.com/. The previous one lasted 6 years, and really the only reason I got the new one was to clarify a few things; that and Isvoc was one of my first choices originally so I did it now that i could!

Overall I guess you could say my look dates back to at least 2006, with just tweaks where necessary.

dekafox,

For this I think I'm going to go back to icons... and while I know I could get several weeks out of spreading them out, they're not large individually, so here we go~!

First icon, and my current one here, is by https://www.furaffinity.net/user/jonas and cyber-themed

After that is a couple by https://www.furaffinity.net/user/starquill and the second one blinks!

Last one is one of my earliest ones, by http://isvoc-art.com/illustration and my first piece by that artist!

A headshot of a blue western dragon with golden horns and cream mane and underbelly, giving a suspicious grin
A bust shot of a blue dragon with white mane and gold horns turning their head around to look back behind them

An animated gif of a blue western dragon with white mane and underbelly doing a loaf and blinking up cutely at something
