#cycling loop done! I never rode my #MTB up this particular forest road to the #mountain and maybe I now know why: Some part of it is really steep - or I'm just unfit. But woah did I drive on my personal limit for quite a while!!
BUT: I did it! And it feels awesome!
The 10min downhill was a lot of fun, for sure! But next time I'll try the other side of the mountain again to drive up.
#Mountain - live in 1970, "Mississippi Queen" & "Theme from an Imaginary Western."
Leslie West plants his feet in one spot and commands the stage with concise lead guitar and thunderous vocals. Felix Pappalardi provides a mellower counterpoint as Corky Laing drums like the unsung powerhouse he was. Steve Knight looks almost bookish by contrast, but his keyboard lines fit right in. Mountain belongs up there with Cream, Free, Zeppelin and the other greats of that era.
Olstinden is a prominent 675 m high mountain in the south of the Lofoten Islands in Norway. We saw it from the car on the way to the next campsite, and I just had to stop and take a panoramic photo.
Alnwick was raided on numerous occasions by Scottish armies. Malcolm III was defeated & killed here in 1093, & William the Lion was defeated & captured here in 1174. William Wallace also attacked Alnwick in 1297. Town walls and gates were constructed from 1434 onwards.
Named after the famous Sir Henry Hotspur (who has a football team named after him.. 😲) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Percy_(Hotspur)
Yesterday hike to Mount Herbert, the highest hill of Banks peninsula! Very nice views, in spite of a freezing wind at the summit.
Went there by car but regret did not have been doing bus+ferry: similar time, better experience, less pollution. #hike#hiking#mountain#mountains#BanksPeninsula#Canterbury#Aotearoa#NZ
