Hmm, I would like to see a double blind scientific study in "ear pulling" being connected to kidney health. (ps, completely different book here) #random#health
Study: "Ear length and kidney function decline after kidney donation "
"Our findings support the notion of Traditional Chinese Medicine that ear morphology may be associated with kidney health and suggest that ear length might be a useful predictor of kidney function decline after kidney donation. "
Hmm, a very large dog just came up to the window (outside) here where I am working--about 5 feet way from me--and starting a loud howling for a few minutes, and left. (not my dog). Last night there was a raccoon there all night, and a coyote wandering around. Now I am wondering what is so interesting right here outside.
(I think it was a dog, because it was wearing a reflective collar... but now, I am not so sure).
(For the record, the dog here inside was very confused--but not alarmed--about why a strange dog was howling at the window) #random#dogs
TIL the original Zamboni machine was built on a Jeep, and was popularized by a touring ice skater who happened to witness it: Sonja Henie.
Here is the man himself. Frank Zamboni.
His machine scrapes the ice, augers it into the tank, washes it, storing the dirty rinse-water, and then melts it and spreads it evenly behind with a "towel", where it quickly re-freezes evenly.
I do not know the context of this AFP photo, but I feel like it needs a bit of #Photoshop to have him holding something. A large pumpkin? A balloon? A giant round head? #random (Update: to see some great additions, click on "Expand This Post" on the three dots).
@ai6yr "DOT said drivers need to be careful, especially those with self-driving assistance. They ask drivers to turn off this feature while driving on I-95 in the area."
Jeopardy game voice: "I'll take random things on social media for 500 please." 😂
I found this in my basement, right next to the washing machine. No idea what kind of spider this is. In person it looks black and white. But in the photo close up you can make out what also looks like a tan or orange-ish dot. The web is also unusually thick and can be visually seen. Located on the northeast American continent
I hate how laggy this page is, but I guess this is the price of going more independent. Same as crypto vs paypal.
Regardless of this, I'd like if reddit had microblog pages as this. I am kinda used to this kind of content and I think it is a great posting medium. Something between twitter which is very hard to navigate, and reddit, which is a bit to stiff in browsing.
During my social media break, I started taking random walks around the city.
It's amazing how much you see that you'd never noticed before. And sometimes it's like a scavenger hunt.
A few things that seemed out of place or left me with many questions. 🤷♂️
