Apropos of nothing... I sometimes find myself re-following people I previously followed. This isn't because I hate you (or is it?....), but because I'm a bit of a Fedi advocate and will occasionally go through and auto unfollow people who haven't been active for a while. Because I assume they are instead living out their lives on other platforms, which is fine and I don't care, but I curate my experience for and with the people involved in what I perceive to be my community. My benchmark for this is usually a month+, but I accept I might sometimes get this wrong and also that sometimes people may (inexplicably) just not post for a while. So please don't take it personally if you're someone who's not as (MENTAL I CAN'T HELP IT) engaged as me and I unfollow. You are more than welcome to call me out on it. I love the Fediverse and am keen to build a network of likeminded people. I just don't like it when people are mainly present on other platforms but come here to post their 'best posts' for clout. Vive la Fedi and all who sail in it. I love you. X
For all the vaunted "incredible value" of what some call #AI (what I usually call "DC," derivative compiling) where is the function that would block a certain, obnoxious orange face from ever appearing on my screen again? I am SO sick of seeing that on every headline, half a zillion posts a day, etc., etc. Bad enough to know about it and have to stay aware, but it would be a dream for me never to have to look at it again. Yep, I'm whining.
This recumbent bike was abandoned near my house a few days ago, Victoria BC. Anyone able to reconnect it with it's owner?

This painting of a blues band seems very especially African somehow. The muted acrylic colors are so fitting for a painting about blues style of music.

@Free_Press Credit card companies in the U.K. tend to want customers to set up a direct debit covering the minimum payment, so if your current account has funds, you will never make a late payment.
A new Shelter/National Housing Federation report argues that investing around £12bn on building 90,000 #socialhousing units would see a positive return within 11 years.
Getting people into homes would reduce benefits costs, save the #NHS money & more likely see those in proper homes (back) in #work. It would also, of course, boost employment in construction & associated trades.
The paradox for UK #politics is while a long time horizon is acceptable for #nuclear#energy, for homes, not so much!
