For those losing their heads over today's actions by Judge Cannon, take a deep breath. This was always going to happen. The writing has been on the wall since Judge Cannon was drawn for the case. Getting all worked up about it is only going to make you crazy and desperate. The way we will rid ourselves of this menace is at the polls in November.

there is no amount of voting that can remove a corrupt judge, even one openly taking bribes from billionaires -- only the FBI can do that & when's the last time they arrested a crooked judge?

also many of us live in states and/or districts where our vote doesn't count, you may thank the Electoral College created by plantation owners for plantation owners

or a shorter story is PKD's Second Variety, made into a film called Screamers

in that case, i thought the terrifying & delightfully paranoid short story was less effective as a movie while Minority Report was pretty clearly better as a movie

The last thing I want to do is put you in jail, Justice Merchan says to Trump. You are the former President of the United States and possibly the next President as well.

But "going forward," he continues, "this court will have to consider jail sanctions" if necessary.

while i agree that's a serious risk, the judge can't let " a future maybe" make his decisions for him about a real & present situation

i am hopeful that this judge is serious about this statement, i suspect the prosecution respects that he is because they were careful not to ask for jail in this round when they would've been justified in doing the opposite

it feels like everybody is trying to give TFG every chance & if he still f's up... that's on him

Today's #Project365 centered on two fledgling House Sparrows I saw placed in a dark corner by their mom before she left them...

"Lil bro, I got a bad feeling here. Mama ain't coming back."
"How'm I the lil bro? We the same size."
"Point is, we gotta get our own food now."
"Oh, wonderful, just how I wanted to wake up today."

(They did eventually go to the feeders on their own.)

"they say" is a phrase that makes me think the reporter can't verify there was any f'n gun or maybe it was a cell phone or a bag of Skittles, who knows

"The student was killed before he could enter the school" so the part about bringing a weapon into a class in session was pretty obviously a lie

was this swatting or what was it?

There is a thunderstorm here in Eastbourne just now unlike any I have ever experienced. The lightning is so bright it fills the whole room, with blinds down! The whole sky lit up again and again and again. It’s scary and i am scared of what is yet to come (climate change wise).

i always forget this phenomenon (common on the Gulf Coast) seems strange & violent elsewhere

main thing is to turn off items that might be harmed by a power surge like the AC -- or your computers if they're not already on surge protection

i enjoy the light show but when the sound is truly shattering, that's when it gets to me...

This female Downy Woodpecker looks a bit tense, but it's because she's waiting on this branch for her turn at the suet feeder, and I think she's concerned about bigger liner-breakers coming along like the irritable Mockingbird that semi-regularly knocks her off...

Listening to that exchange with Trump’s lawyer about the crimes a president should be able to commit with total immunity, and he says MURDER and COUPS could be “official acts” and warrant immunity even after leaving office, and I’m getting that stuck in a really bad timeline feeling again.

impeachments almost never happen, arrests happen frequently... there is a whole mechanism, hell, there's a whole police state

i'm tired of the double standard
