The documentary was not broadcast in #Canada. Hansen said the reason B.C.’s wood pellet industry is a focus in #UnitedKingdom is the #Drax Power Station in #England.
BC gas prices 2.13 a liter. 10 bucks a gallon. Oil companies hate us. Making us pay THEM for our own funerals.
BC climate costs for 2021 were 17 billion dollars in government spending, business losses.
The cost for this year's climate destruction in #BritishColumbia hasnt even been guessed. Largest share of Canadas 15 million hectares of forest lost, more than a century of logging.
BC must spend 5 billion dollars building the new energy.
Wind, sun, now.
To save the $%^%$ budget!
Lower Falls on Gold Creek at Golden Ears Provincial Park, Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. One of my favourite waterfalls, especially when the spray allows for easy viewing!
The RCMP in Richmond, B.C., put out this video showing a woman wearing earbuds who puts up her hoodie in the rain. She activates the lights at a marked crosswalk and begins to cross a road.
Meanwhile, a driver distracted by a phone call doesn't notice what's in front of him and continues at full speed, reaching the crosswalk just as she is in the middle of crossing.
The tag line: "Pedestrian safety is a two-way street." 🤔
I wrote a short photo essay about hiking with my brother, wife, and dogs along British Columbia's Sunshine Coast and across Garibaldi Highlands through the mist/rain.
I'm so glad I picked the cameras that I did (esp. the weatherproof T5). But I don't talk much about the gear in this post — just the pictures and my words describing how it felt being there.
Hey #britishcolumbia#vancouverusland#vancouver, a new fast passenger ferry called Hullo launched today in Nanaimo and I’ve been trying to get them to reconsider their exclusion of power wheelchair and powered mobility device users, and people who can’t transfer or need to sit in their wheelchairs. Hullo’s operators maintain it’s a gov regulation, but I’ve found otherwise. I’m excited for Hullo to succeed, but not at the expense of disabled passengers. #accessibility#inclusion#bc
Tucked away off main trail towards the nature house was this super cool & huge uprooted tree. There was a lot of petrified wood on it. I really dig petrified wood😀
Anyone with more #BritishColumbia#GovernmentofCanada#legalities on this private medical clinic in #VictoriaBC that I was alerted about today?
Alerted by a friend who was told by her family physician that if she wanted to remain a patient that she needs to pay $1500 first.
That sounds illegal & in violation of federal health act.
Can anyone in BC please tell me more about legalities of this??
Day 2 of my private photo workshop on Vancouver Island. Always pleased and grateful when the participant is willing to face strong winds and heavy rain in order to get some storm photos of the Pacific Ocean. This is our first big storm of the season.
Despite all the fabulous rain and storms last night the #AirQuality for our area in #BritishColumbia is around 70AQI. Still smells a little smoke, but much better than it has been. Could comfortably have a long walk this morning, yay.
2 videos were removed from TikTok but I saved copies & uploaded to #YouTube. From Summer of 2021. Up near mountain resistance camp at #FairyCreekBlockade where #RCMPCIRG tried, failed at tackling/arresting #ForestDefenders & ran back to their helicopter & took off. They were the only ones armed & being violently aggressive.
