Funahashi Kazuo was born with #CerebralPalsy, which left him with #PhysicalDisabilities. He wasn't expected to live more than 20 yrs, but is still strong at 74. His wife, Mizue, helps him communicate with those around him. 50 yrs ago a #documentary was made about Kazuo's adventures w/ his friends w/ #disabilities. Now, we follow the couple along with their two daughters & grandson, as they enjoy dining out, traveling, going to baseball games & living life to the fullest.
It is very important for me to be able to perform tasks one handed because of my hemiplegia (cerebral palsy 😕)
Yes I have two hands, but my entire right half of my body has been partially paralysed practically my entire life. It is a miracle I can even talk or walk as good as I can.

I am so sick of the lack of consideration making us disabled feel like second class citizens.
Today I discovered that not only is July #Disability Pride Month but also that we have a flag. It is so well done and extremely meaningful. It was created by Ann Magill, a disabled writer.

I'm a disabled lesbian trans woman from the north-west of England. I'm totally blind and have cerebral palsy. I possibly neurodivergent in some form or other as well but haven't been diagnosed.
I've been happily married for nearly 7 years at the time of writing. My wife doesn't do much on social media so I usually don't mention her name in public posts.

Music, both playing and listening. I play keyboards, drums and bass. I love synthesisers and learning how to program my own patches on the ones that are accessible to me. I have a fairly eclectic music taste and favourite genres include pop, soul, R&B, rock, electronic music and others. It's probably easier to say what I don't like.
reading. mainly fantacy and sci-fi but I'll give most things a go if the blurb grabs me.
Technology interests me, but mainly as an end user rather than messing about with servers and stuff like that, although I have done a bit of coding. One tech thing I am fascinated by though is speech synthesisers.
Accessibility is of course important to me, and I've been known to go on rants about that. I'm a full-time screen reader user. NVDA on windows and VoiceOver on iOS.
I've done a fair bit of Wikipedia editing in the past, but not much these days.

Christy Brown was born on 5th June 1932 in Crumlin, Dublin. He had 22 siblings of whom 9 died in infancy. He was an Irish writer and painter who had cerebral palsy and was able to write or type only with the toes of one foot. His most recognised work is an autobiography, My Left Foot (1954). It was later made into a 1989 film of the same name, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Brown.
