I mean, who climbs into the car from the boot?

And what about the bonnet? If the boot's a door, surely the bonnet is a door too.

Shop door in the Tibetan Refugee Colony at Majnuka Tila (New Aruna Colony) in New Delhi, India. The eight objects on the door covering are the Ashtamangala. These eight sacred objects are sacred to both Buddhism and Hinduism, and are a big motif in Tibetan Buddhist art.

Door update. Inner door now sanded & oiled with linseed oil. New outer door has a second coat of undercoat and window mullions. Second coat of bottle green paint to follow tomorrow.

Ok, a little break from all the touristic wanderings for some classic architectural nonsense! of for your stormy Monday afternoon.

Angled photo of a gren door with inset ironwork, inset into a stucco wall. The wide columns that surround the doorway have been decorated with a single black cat silhouette on each side, seated on the large painted stones that make up the base of each.
A decorative iron gate, arched at the top, allows a view into a garden courtyard. Many of the houses in Granada are built around courtyards, and all are more decorative on the inside than the outside, so glimpses like this are a treat.
An ornate Muslim/Moorish-style doorway in a plain stucco wall. The doors themselves are made of dark wood with iron fittings. The doorway is keyhole-shaped, with a pointed arch abive that narrows at shoulder height and then goes straight to the floor. The lower part is painted an orange-red, the arch is made of narrow bricks that alternate with carved or pressed bricks, and then that is further surrounded with a multicolored tile that fills out the balance of a total rectangular space.
