Kann mich mal jemand über die neuen #Friendica Relays aufklären?
Also diese kann ich ja unter Nutzerkonten selbst erstellen. Reicht es wenn ich diversen Hashtags folge? Werden diese Beiträge dann automatisch von diesem Relay geteilt?
Ich hatte eben unten stehenden Austausch und frage mich da natürlich ob mir irgendwelche Informationen fehlen bzw. ob es bei Mastodon Bezüge gibt die ich so nicht sehe.
Wäre schon interessant zu erfahren ob man da mit Mastdon mehr sieht.
Es gibt schon lange eine sehr große und aktive englischsprachige Opensource-Community lemmy.ml/c/opensource , aber um sich zu deutschsprachigen News auszutauschen oder Fragen auf deutsch zu stellen und zu diskutieren, gab es mW noch keine Entsprechung. Daher habe ich nun spontan diese gegründet:

Yesterday I tried to setup my own version of OCRbot@fedi.lynnesbian.space, which does #OCR on pictures attached to posts on the #Fediverse, which I find an intriguing idea. During the process to set this up I was lazy and asked #ChatGPT to guide me through the whole process, which is fairly easy to be honest, but I an playing around with this #AI for fun.
I wanted to run the OCR #bot on my own #Friendica server, because I like to run on my own tech too.
So I asked Chatty to guide me and it worked well, I logged in with the Python bot and wanted to start it and got an API error, it was only then when I told ChatGPT that I am actually trying this with Frienidca and that the API might have its limits.
I then looked up the API documentation of the Mastodon API that Friendica implemented and asked ChatGPT if there is any essential parts missing that are needed to run the bot.
ChatGPT 'read' the documentation of both, the bot and the Mastodon API of Friendica and explained:
"Since Friendica doesn't support the Mastodon streaming API, the OCRbot, which relies on these endpoints, may not be compatible with Friendica without significant modifications to either the bot or the Friendica server."
Just wanted to write a bit about this experience with Friendica, the bot and ChatGPT.
Maybe I will setup a #Pleroma instance for this, a single user instance for me and the bot, maybe better a Mastodon instance?
Frage a den Friendica-Großmeister @alfred@support oder jeden anderen Betreiber einer #Friendica-Instanz: Welche PHP-Version läuft für Eure Instanzen? Ich überlege eine eigene Instanz auf Ubuntu 22.04 LTS aufzusetzen, da gibt es aber schon PHP 8.1., soweit ich verstehe, noch nicht vollständig kompatibel mit Friendica. Generell die Frage - Ubuntu 22.04 oder doch besser Debian 11 nehmen? Danke herzlich!
Im Umfeld der #META Diskussion scheint es wieder ein größeres Interesse an #disapora zu geben. Ein Fediverse Projekte, dass vielen hier unbekannt ist und dennoch eine breite Nutzerbasis genießt. Für viele #G+ Nutzende, was es die Fluchtburg, als das Projekt seinerzeit durch google gestoppt wurde. Aber auch schon davor war die Diaspora ein Zuhause für viele Enthusiasten, denen die private, persönliche Kommunikation wichtiger war, als der Hype und die Aufregungswellen, durch die sich die kommerziellen Plattformen auszeichnen. Daher gibt es, wie im gesamten Fediverse, auch dort keine Algorithmen, viele verschiedene Instanzen (Pod) und unterschiedliche Kulturen & Themen, die sich über Hashtags zusammen finden.
Anders als die meisten Projekte im Fediverse nutzt Diaspora kein#activity-pub als Protokoll, sonder einen eigenen Standard und segelt damit unterhalb der Sichtlinie von Facebook. Damit bildet es ein eigenständiges Netzwerk ohne Mastodon, Lemmy oder andere AP basierende Fediverse Projekte. Lediglich #Friendica und #Hubzilla sind in der Lage mit diesen Netzwerk zu kommunizieren, was damit zusammen hängt, dass diese Projekte neben AP, den eigenen Protokollen auch das Diaspora Protokoll unterstützten und damit den ursprünglichen Gedanken des Fediverse weiter leben lassen.

Can #Friendica only count to 990 for some reason? A curious thing: I posted something that went relatively viral. I've received repeated notifications of more likes and reshares. But once the total number reached 990, i.e., the sum of shares and likes is 990, the numbers listed aren't going up any more, rather when one goes up, the other goes down. The sum remains 990. Curiouser and curiouser.
Dear @admins, for my #Friendica and also my other #fediverse servers, I am looking for a recommended minimum instance #blocklist which contains only domains that contain or distribute illegal or potentially illegal (in Germany/EU, UK or US) content and / or are notorious spammers. I use a combination of the #gardenfence and #oliphant tier0/tier1 lists at the moment which seems okay but is broader than what I described due to the inclusion of very block-friendly sources. I am looking for something really focussing on legality and server security only as a condensed basis. Any recommendations? @helpers
Jetzt, wo infolge abhanden gekommener Blauhaken (und #Reichweite) wahrscheinlich noch mal eine größere Welle von Usern samt Gefolge aus dem Vogelkäfig zu #Mastodon abwandert, ist für mich vielleicht ein guter Zeitpunkt, mal wieder mit Klarnamen aufzutreten und zugleich zu unterstreichen, dass das #Fediverse nicht nur aus Mastodon besteht, sondern noch andere schöne Töchter hat. A mi, me gusta #Misskey. Die #Instanz von https://misskey.de/ ist zudem in guten Händen (betrieben vom gleichen Admin, der auch die #Friendica-Instanz https://libranet.de/ betreibt, die schon seit Jahren existiert.
Meinen bisherigen Account bei Mastodon werde ich bis auf weiteres und vielleicht auch längerfristig noch weiter betreuen. Allerdings werde ich das meiste, was ich dort poste, zunächst von meinem neuen Misskey-Account aus posten und dann dort einfach boosten. Auf diese Weise bekommt ihr es, wenn ihr mir dort folgt, weiterhin mit. Trotzdem freue ich mich natürlich über alle, die mir (auch) oder alternativ unter diesem neuen Account folgen.
Im Laufe des Wochenendes werde ich wohl auch allen folgen, denen ich mit meinem Mastodon-Account folge. Das Prozedere ist leider etwas umständlich, weil man von Mastodon nicht einfach so zu Misskey umziehen kann wie innerhalb von Mastodon. Da gibt es noch Verbesserungsbedarf. Ansonsten aber gilt: #FediPower und #FediverseIsFuture!
TIL that in Mastodon you can do a private reply on a post. I wonder if we could do something like that on Friendica? Right now the privacy of a comment is always the same as the root post. I know that the UX of Friendica not having post/comment threads idiom makes it perhaps more natural than what one could have in the Friendica UI. I wonder if the Mastodon API implementation in Friendica already does this even (I think it doesn't but I haven't been in that code in a few months)...hmmm... #friendica#mastodon#fediverse
The latest beta of the Relatica mobile and desktop Friendica client, version 0.6.0, has just been released. This release includes three major new features: blocks management, post/comment filtering, and image gallery management functions. It also includes fixes for the jankiness and apparent freezing that could be seen when processing posts coming back from the server, a problem where delayed logins could prevent the app from loading, and several other bug nits. The CHANGELOG file has more details. The Install file can be used for installing Android, Linux, and Windows version. Apple has it in review for iOS and macOS users so should be available within the next 24 hours. wie ich gerade festgestellt habe, taucht mein Server in der Statistik auf Fediverse Observer als englischsprachig auf. Allerdings habe ich sowohl im Admin-Panel als auch in der local.config.php die Sprache auf Deutsch gestellt. Muss ich da sonst noch irgendwo etwas angeben? So wichtig ist es mir ja nicht, das es meist kein offener Server ist, aber eigenartig finde ich es schon.
Frage | Kann es sein das die Suche nach Personen/Accounts ne Macke hat?
Ich habe auf meiner eigenen Instanz das Problem das ich bei der Suche nach Personen/Accounts immer eine recht seltsame Ausgabe erhalte. Das Problem existiert dabei explizit nicht erst seit dem neuen Release sondern schon länger. Das sieht dann z. B. so aus:
Hat einer von Euch einen Plan wo das Problem liegen könnte?

PS. Mir ist klar das ich auch die ganze URL des Profils, bei dem Beispiel wäre das die kolektiva.social/ aber das kann ja nicht Sinn und Zweck der Sache sein das man erst jede Profil URL heraussuchen muss.
Bug | Friendica: Das hat irgendwie den Rahmen zerschossen
Eben habe ich in meinen Stream/Timeline folgendes gesehen:
Rufe ich den Beitrag einzeln auf, sieht es genauso aus. Der Link zum Originalbeitrag ist hier. Ich habe aber keine Ahnung warum das bei mir so dargestellt wird.
Von @sascha kann ich problemlos dem Account @raven folgen, bekomme aber dessen Profilbild nicht korrekt angezeigt und bekomme auch die aktuellen Beiträge nicht, kann sie auch nicht über die Beitrags URL (z. B. social.aghd.org/display/5a9db6…) aufrufen. Das Profilbild sieht dann so aus:
@helpers One of the distinct disadvantages, afaict, with the #Friendica web UI [ie, using a browser] compared to Mastodon, is the inability to see / access / use the Compose Post box unless one is scrolled to the top of the timeline. In Masto, with both its default & #AdvancedWebInterface UI views, the Compose box is always visible, hence available, regardless of any other timeline status. Tbh i find this restriction really frustrating in F.
For various reasons in F i prefer the Vier UI display option over Frio, but afaict my objection pertains to both.
Is there possibly some option buried in Settings that i might have missed, which when enabled makes the Compose Post box available any time, eg, from a top bar link as a popup modal?
Is there some AddOn for this that Friendica server owners could install that remedies this problem?
In absence of anything better, my inefficient workaround is to open a second tab of my F account, in which i then access the box to compose & send my impromptu post, without disturbing my position in my scrolled timeline in the original tab [eg, first thing each morning i scroll down & review all new posts since yesterday, but often think of something i want to say or ask that's not tied to any individual post i might be contemporaneously reading atm, six hours down my timeline].
I have 4 browsers installed on my PC.
In one I have friendica open with the user administrator.
On another is the user I normally use.
A week ago I added a new user to friendica, but I can't get into his account through any browser. Not even on my mobile phone.
After that, I tried to log in to the account of my normal user through another browser, both on my PC and on my phone, but I always get the same error.
At the moment I seem to be able to access my normal account via just the same browser (the same with the admin).
Does anyone know what #Friendica is missing to correctly generate post link previews on remote systems? #OpenGraph#Interoperability

Das Problem ist nur, dass ich wenn ich auf den entsprechenden Link klicke um den Beitrag einzeln zu öffnen auch wieder die Fehlerseite kommt:
Woran könnte das liegen? Einen anderen Beitrag des selben Accounts konnte ich problemlos öffnen und auch kommentieren.
