Dear
I'm begging you, please just talk to a behavioral scientist/psychologist before publishing. Or read a textbook. Read Wikipedia. Anything.

"Psychotic" doesn't mean what you think it does. No, that's not why therapy works. Your armchair theories about mental illnesses and substance use need to be updated or scrapped altogether. Freud's theories were never any good and haven't been relevant for decades.

While I'm here: you also might not know what "bemused" means, and even if you do, please limit its use to perhaps twice in one book.

I love to hear the sound of typing in the evening. It sounds like progress being made and that’s a beautiful thing.

Apple has a "study buddy" video series. Someone to sit with you (remotely, of course) and keep you focused on your studies, tell you when to take breaks.

Watch the first 30 seconds, you'll get the idea.

Kind of ❤️ this.

This took so long to make, I have a feeling they’ll rush right through it but I hope the point starts to sink in about the care algebra requires with notation like this. After they do this I’ll ask them what they think “canonical form” means and why on earth we might need it.

Am I giving you homework on mastodon? Maybe. (Well I found an error so you think I’d have more sympathy for them mixing these up. )

My 11yo had to make a poster for . I was very pleased when she asked if she could include one of my book covers 😀

Homework. Questions around usefulness of this have been around forever.
Never had a problem with it myself, but some others certainly feel strongly against it.

Wanted to share something good…

My daughter’s back in school, which means I’m back in school (homework). She’s learning algebra. I took it in the 6th grade with 7th/8th graders. But I forgot most of it.

She was crying when we sat down. She didn’t understand any of it. First I had to learn it, then try to explain it differently. By the time we finished, she was smiling and racing through the problems. That felt really good.

Fall is coming."

Old SO question I know, but still: The question screams "homework", yet seven people answered it and none of them asked if this was for homework. 🤦‍♂️
