Waiting for [#JUICE ...] NASA's #Juno probe recently took images of the surface of #Europe, an icy moon of #Jupiter. And what a surprise! The #ice crust has shifted, distorted, ...
So what happened? Are these changes the result of interactions with the vast oceanic area lying beneath Europa's surface?
Where Is [#JUICE?] Launched on April 14 from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana aboard an #Ariane5 rocket, the JUICE probe from the European Space Agency - ESA is on its way to #Jupiter and its icy moons, which it will reach in 2031, after multiple flybys of Earth, the Earth-Moon system and Venus #GravitationalAssistance.
This spring, #ESA launched the #Juice Mission to #Jupiter - but why does it need 8 years to get there when the Voyager space probes, many decades ago, needed under two? Well, because we don't want to just zoom past Jupiter but to hand around there for a while, doing cool science.
And once Juice reached Jupiter comes the even more complicated part - getting into the orbit!
@spaceflight if you just "want to point it out", then please don't post it as a question to me next time and especially not in a post that is topically on a different topic (namely #Juice).
It's not been a great year for apples (or pears). Most of them rotted on the tree. Of the remaining ones, every single one had at least one worm in it.
We hauled 2.5 sacks of the better ones to a fruit press at a nearby village. Got 53 Liters of worm, err, apple juice back. Not that sweet, but drinkable.
We'll be pissing butterflies! Ok, probably just moths.
