VICE may be dead, but some recently laid-off employees uploaded one bonus episode of CYBER to Motherboard's podcast feed. In it, they eulogize the company and "explain what the fuck just happened."

I recommend downloading this episode while you still can https://feeds.acast.com/public/shows/6dab3ca4-41f5-4fd4-bba6-224ab53f5113 H/T @webuiltthiscity

Well, my damn tremor caused me to break the connector on the Nintendo Switch motherboard for the right joycon. 😡 Now it’s not recognizing it connected to the console.

Now I have to get a damn motherboard for it.

BIOS update went off without a hitch!

Except I had to disable the firmware trusted computing module and reenter my Bitlocker key because I just had to install a real TCM

I really like 's feature. Makes BIOS updates a breeze!

Guys, some hardware (or rather, advice). My burst into smoke 🔥 and now it's okay 😮

🧱 So, I had this problem where my laptop went completely unresponsive: no charging, no powering on, no indicator lights, nothing

🔌 Tried a new power adapter + opened up and line-tested the power socket but no response

🔥 Decided to connect up and try once more. Battery + other indicators finally came on...and also a mini explosion with smoke! So I quickly disconnected

8 BEST Motherboards For i9-13900K [2023] - Tech4Gamers (tech4gamers.com)

What motherboards are you guys using for your high end CPUs? I stuck with a standard Z790 Gigabyte board for my 13900k. The main selling points I found when I was looking was that more expensive boards usually supported higher memory frequencies / timings and provided extra headers and M.2 slots....

MrEUser, (edited ) to random in Current AMD build?

I’m currently rolling with an X570 Aorus Master, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and an Aorus AMD 6750 XT Elite 12G graphics card. I have a 4k LG monitor that runs 60 FPS. I set my graphics at 2k and max refresh at 60 Hz. Then I turn on the AMD upscaling and it looks great.

My upgrade plans are to go straight to an AMD 7x00x3d. Right now I’m considering an MSI motherboard after ASUS broke my heart, and AORUS violated my trust with their intentional security hole in the damned motherboard firmware.

I need to look into re-learning .
says the are around 10C higher than what the are (I built my own set for this machine - because I wanted to.)
Granted, this is one of the old E5-2600v2 series in the computer I'm typing on right now.. (different computer, not the server - waiting for to deliver my new CPU coolers), an X9DRH-7TF by SuperMicro, so maybe that's ?
Yeah, I know, WAY overkill for a , but it's also a from a previous iteration, so...
Yes, I'm . I upgrade my , then my get all the old .

cheetah_spottycat, to random

BY THE WAY.

Since I have to do this once again ... if anyone here has a supermicro motherboard and wants to update the BIOS through the BMC and it asks you for a license key:

echo -n 'bmc-mac' | xxd -r -p | openssl dgst -sha1 -mac HMAC -macopt hexkey:8544E3B47ECA58F9583043F8 | awk '{print $2}' | cut -c 1-24

insert the mac address of the IPMI ethernet port for "bmc-mac".
