The other day I was singing along to the Gorillaz song "Clint Eastwood" and Little MDMRN (14) said that I ruined the song. The real conversation:
Little MDMRN: Ugh, you know all the words? You're ruining Gorillaz
Me: I'm ruining Gorillaz?
LM: Yes.
Me: I'm ruining a song from a band that came out my senior year of High School?
LM: Yes.
Me: Proceeds to sing more and louder
It was finally dry enough to get some proper gardening done this afternoon. Shattered now, but did have some pleasing feathered visitors while I was out there.
Also one of our regular wood pigeons, who I am very fond of, although less so today as they are prime suspect in the investigation to find out who crapped in the bird bath within 5 minutes of it being cleaned and refilled.
Right. Off to do sensible things. Happy to take suggestions for artworks that should contain a knitted chicken below. I've worked through my essential list 🖼️
Quite fancy doing a Myfanwy & Friend version of American Gothic. Should be easy to swap them in.
Could do, but it'll be a faff. Myfanwy is taller than her friend, but she really needs to go on the left, so you're going to have to patch the building where the man used to be.
Oh. I bet that's the sort of thing that AI is good at. Should I sign up and see?
A few notes - I'm being silly calling this perfect/ the most important add on of all time; the numbers are based on a combination of old data + extrapolations; and it's not 100% accurate. But, it's fun.
Sometime an idea flits through my mind & I think "I wonder if I can make that work" without giving sufficient thought to what "working" means in that particular context.
Anyhow. Here's C.M. Coolidge's "A Friend in Need" with Myfanwy the knitted chicken & friend.
My office has snacks in our kitchen for folks here. It's a mix of stuff. There's chips, individually packed cookies, and an area with some hand fruit.
One odd-ball item is Fun Dip packs. They're always there, rarely taken. But, whatever.
Yesterday, I went to go snag a bag of chips to go with my sandwich at lunch. I saw two packs of Fun Dip had been left with the Lik-a-Stix removed and only the sugar powder remaining.
So after a bit of a rushed start to the day I went for coffee with an old friend, had a good chat putting the world to rights (education & healthcare edition) & although it was raining when I walked home it gave me the opportunity to hear a toddler admire my brightly coloured rainbow umbrella VERY loudly & at great length to her accompanying adult.
