Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. Why don't they just merge as "Peppers 'n Shells" and set up a tent at the local farmer's market?

This pair of tiny golden wings is the shell of a Banded wedge shell (Donax vittatus). These small marine bivalves spend most of their lives beneath the sands. Their empty shells are often found scattered across beaches after stormy winter weather.

The colours and markings on this Common Otter Shell (Lutraria lutraria) remind me of a stormy evening with building dark clouds surrounding patches of evening sunlight. County Clare, Ireland.

POE'S BESTSELLER:
THE CONCHOLOGIST'S FIRST BOOK, 1839
“Yes, this is a book about #seashells. After experiencing dismal sales with his first 3 books of poetry as well as with his only novel, Poe finally found commercial success with [this] textbook on shells. It became his bestselling book during his lifetime. For this unusual volume, a professional conchologist paid Poe $50 to write a new introduction for an existing textbook while reusing the pictures of shells.”
