Generation X is the first studio album by English punk rock band Generation X, released on this day in 1978 featuring the single "Ready Steady Go"
I was sixteen in 1990 when #DeeeLite released their top 10 hit single “Groove Is In The Heart.” Here’s a short routine I performed to help celebrate my #dance studio’s “Sweet 16” anniversary party.

I am really upset to see so many #women of my #generationX jumping to the defense of #RussellBrand, claiming 'these women knew exactly what they were letting themselves in for". Nevermind being a living proof of how slowly #feminism has progressed, they display an understanding of #sexualassault & #consent BELOW the very #legal definitions, ignoring it ain't just PIV (penis in vagina) or not having awakened to marital r*pe law (voted in 1991 in the UK).
I am old enough to remember when the shitty little external speakers you attached to your desktop PC would announce that you were getting a phone call two seconds before your phone would actually ring.
Never sure how much weight to put into the results of a #YouGov poll 🗳️ but it's very funny to see that #JeremyCorbyn is still (?) the most popular politician in the #UnitedKingdom 🇬🇧
The top five are all #Labour 🔴 politicians and the current Prime Minister, #RishiSunak 🔵 sits in sixth place.
If you use the filters down the side, it's fun to see how - predictably - #Millennials prefer more left wing politicians with Jeremy Corbyn increasing his lead, #GenerationX is more mixed with Keir Starmer topping the polls, and #BabyBoomers see Boris Johnson top the charts and Nigel Farage enter the Top 5.
As ever, @ThisWeekInThe90s has come out with another tremendous newsletter. This week's edition take a look at the politics of Grunge and Generation X through the lens of 4 Non Blondes' "What's Up?"
And of course there's plenty of other great 90s music in there as well.
This thoughtful, intelligent, meticulously-researched weekly newsletter is fast becoming one of my favourite things. Do take a look!
