Workout tonight:

Deadlift: warm ups, 1x6 @ 275 (83% 1rm), 4x5 @ 255lbs.
Close grip bench: 4x9 @ 155lbs (70% 1rm)
Bicep/tricep accessories for a few sets.

Finally got the last bits of disease out of me and my diet a bit more locked in. Today I felt really good across the board. Nice to feel normal again!

Also saw a surprise gym kitty tonight.

Workout today:

Deadlift: warm ups, 1x6 @ 280 (85% 1rm), 4x6 @ 255lbs.
Close grip bench: 4x8 @ 155lbs (70% 1rm)
Bicep curls/skullcrushers: supersetted 3x17 @ 25lbs or some small weight like that.

Morning workout meant I felt a bit more stiff on the deadlifts. After the workout I realized I usually have a 1 inch raise on them to make it easier to get into position. That explains things! Bench strength is back especially with proper rest between sets.

Workout tonight:

Overhead Press: Warm ups, 1x6 @ 155 (80% 1rm), 4x5 @ 145lbs.
Push press: Quick warm up, 4x7 @ 135lbs. Failed last two reps of the last set.
Box jumps/dumbbell press supersets: 3x6/3x9 @ 35lbs each hand.

I'm 95% of the way back from the colds. Thinking the heat, being if schedule for a number of weeks, and my diet and starting to impact things. This shouldn't have felt so hard for me tonight. Oh well!

Back Squats: warm ups, 1x6 @ 275lbs (80% 1rm), 4x6 @ 255lbs (75% 1rm)
Close grip bench: 3x8, 2x6 @ 155lbs (70% 1rm)
Barbell rows: 4x12 @ 135lbs.

Not too bad. Squat weight definitely felt heavier than last time, but doable still. Pulled something in my left general ass/low back area, so I swapped front squats for close grip bench. Love the 8+ sets after being away for a while!

Tonight's workout:

Deadlifts: warm ups, 1x6 @ 265lbs (80% 1rm), 4x6 @ 255lbs (a bit over 75% 1rm).
Overhead press: warm ups, 4x5 @ 145lbs (a bit under 75% 1rm).
Bicep curls/skull crushers: 3x15 @ some very light weight.

This workout was not supposed to feel so difficult. The deadlifts weren't too bad, but the presses were rough. Just took forever to get any energy going. Guessing either still leftover illness or a new illness starting. Argh!

Push press: warm ups, 1x6 @ 165lbs, 4x6 @ 155lbs.
Close grip bench: 2x6, 2x5 @ 165lbs
Box up/dumbbell press: superset 3x5, 3x9 @ 35lbs each hand.

Great to be back! Push press felt good and easy, and then I couldn’t strict OHP super put weights lol. So switched it to bench instead which went better. Guess all the things I’ve had going on recently limited tonight.

Went to the in what feels like forever yesterday, and I couldn’t quite do the weights that I used to do before.

My body today feels sore, but feels like I’ve accomplished something 💪 - let’s hope I can keep up the gym routine!

Apparently I’ve been doing squats wrong?? Maybe I should stop using Smith Machine altogether and stick to basics? I feel like I need to justify my gym trip by doing something fancy; I mean you can do basics anywhere 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today is the kind of day when I am retreating to the comforts of my air-conditioned gym equipped with swimming pool, steam room & sauna to escape the merciless heat.

I mean, sure, I will willingly subject myself to the heat of a steam room but that is only for five minutes 😜
