It's OK for #Twitter and #Reddit to paywall their API. It's their service. It's OK for #Discord to forbid the use of third party clients. It's their platform. The only people we should blame are the ones who are complaining about it while still using those services and platforms. There are more than enough alternatives like #Mastodon, #Matrix, #Signal, #Pixelfed... Stop whining and sucking the 🍆 of these nightmare companies, and make the switch. It's not that hard.

@pixelfed jeez, @dansup, I don't even use #pixelfed, but watching you develop out in the open is giving me huge #impostersyndrome because of the sheer number of features you put out day after day 😃
@dansup and don't forget #Pixelfed portfolios too. I suppose yes many only see posts and don't understand those other niche features aimed at photos and video specifically.
@dansup 😅 Yeah, #Mastodon also limits me to sharing 4 photos at a time. On my #Pixelfed instance I can share up to 10 photos (I can extend the amount but that would be overkill.
I like the idea of #Peertube, but bandwidth fees keep me from adopting it (#Vimeo & #Youtube are within my budget).
Hashtag follows and shares in home timeline are up next, a byproduct of this will be Push Notifications and much faster home feed pagination 😎 #pixelfed
hmm, is it intentional that #pixelfed comments are so hard to actually see? had a short discussion with another pixelfed user under one of my pics today, could not see my own responses from pixelfed at all. only could see all comments via mastodon
Muy chulo lo del #portfolio que ofrece ahora @pixelfed. Puedes seleccionar hasta 100 fotos de tu perfil de #pixelfed y que se muestren en un portfolio.
Por ejemplo, el de @casatiajulia con unas poquitas fotos queda así (tengo que ir publicando más cosas, para refinarlo)
It's cool how it works once you've gotten the hang of having to boost from Pixelfed to make it show up in the associated Mastodon account which you can then boost again from an actual Mastodon account. You can post once and not have to fill in info, alt text, etc.
I'm not using apps (not a big mobile user), i'm using Librewolf on a linux desktop OS and once i committed to only having one tab of each open it's less confusing and works well.

We're dropping support for v0.11.5 and below in the next #pixelfedApp release and making v0.11.6 the min version for inclusion in to the https://pixelfed.org/servers directory.

TIL there's limit to how many people you can follow with #ActivityPub. No one seems to specify what it is, but it could be as low as a couple thousand. I already follow 1.1k!
I had this solution in mind for #Mastodon on #iOS, but I guess its somewhat transferrable to #PixelFed too if you are willing to maintain a list of instances.
Is this normal? I've been unable to use Pixelfed for a few days now. I'm getting this error on both my smartphone and computer - in both Firefox and Brave Browser. This 'No preview available' message is present on all images in my timeline and local timeline, but the global timeline is fine.
I cleared cache, but it is not working? How i can fix this?
