I recommend #robotdreams , a wonderful animated feature about a #dog and their #robot friend in 80s new york. Not a word is spoken, no kitsch, no fake nostalgia. A funny, moving take on friendships and how they change over time and sometimes make room for something new. #film#cinema

#Robot dogs armed with AI-targeting rifles undergo US Marines #SpecialOps evaluation
it's the possibility of arming them with #weapons for remote engagement that may draw the most attention. But it's not unprecedented: The US Marine Corps has also tested robotic dogs armed with rocket launchers in the past. #ai
This was an interesting bit of research into this, from the origins of the word #robot (forced labor) right after the Second Industrial revolution, to how we connect it with #ai... I had way too much fun reading up to write this. Robots started off as a metaphor in 1920 that doesn't seem as distant as it should be now.
I made this piece for an contest with the prompt "Electronic Emotions". I thought the result was kind of meh, and only decided to post it because, well, the work was already done, no point in letting it go to waste.
Not only did it win, but did so with one of the highest number of votes ever received. There is a lesson in there I'm still working on learning.
Yesterday, for supporting my robot film, #TheMetalPerson I rewarded patrons with a stylized wallpaper of a pied kingfisher sitting on a leafless branch (looks like a stick suspended in air). The foreground, bird and branch, is monochrome, the background is pale yellow. (Okay, alt-texting has taught me how to describe images, you get the picture?)
I still need to write the assembly instructions for my tiny #robot project Wee Bug (and Moo Bug). Last time I tried IKEA-style instructions, and people struggled. I'm thinking about doing it as a comic book this time around, what do you think?
Started a new hard-surface modeling project in MagicaCSG.
By posting works in progress here, I force myself to turn this into something interesting, or I will be unmasked as an impostor, and eternal embarrassment will be my fate. 😅
Dave Myeh suffered from debilitating, chronic back pain that led to sciatica in his right leg and extreme pain in his lower back.
He went to London Health Sciences Centre and became the first patient in Canada to receive a surgery called a direct lateral spine surgery, using the #MazorX#Spinal#Robot.
