Alas my halfling thief "Foo Shoe" died at the hands of WRAITHS! But he died rich with his thumbs up cause he had a significant chunk of the party treasure! The other players will have to face an extra, very short, wraith next time!

that's them running in the wide shot!

I spent time painting tonight and decided to start some "remix" pieces for my Tower of Terror. (A "remix" in this context is an STL that's been modified to include new or different features.)

Even with just the rough colors blocked out, I can tell this catacomb level will look great!

RPG tip from the archive: PCs having an easy time with zombies or scarecrows? Fill them with swarms of wasps that flood out on slashing or piercing attacks.

What’s a good retail price for a two deck hobby card game? Two 54 card decks in a retail box with 18-page rules booklet. Comic style art. Good production value. Sturdy cards.

Made by a small press publisher. No print run of 10,000, so $10 retail is not reasonable.

maybe this is a hot take, but i think having broad weapon proficiency makes sense for fighters and maybe monks.

pretty much every one else that gets weapon proficiencies should be choosing one or two weapons that they've trained with, and they should need to re-train over a week or more before being proficient with something else.

The two things that I personally feel have always been terrible about the design of are the class-based character development system and the Vancian magic system.

These systems irrationally limit the choices players can make in designing and developing their PCs, and TSR/WotC/Hasbro has missed so many opportunities to do away with these systems over the past 50 years.

But, they can be fixed, within the existing framework of . (more)

@gcvsa This reminds me of the old spell point and character point systems which TSR published for AD&D 2nd ed.

@zdl AD&D 2nd ed was very modular for good & ill. It had lots of mini games which didn’t interact with each other. That was making it easy for house rules but not easy to teach.

Credit where it's due, it's a relief that DnDBeyond has confirmed 's 5.5 edition will be included in the Creative Commons SRD. This will be a net gain for the hobby, whatever WotC/Hasbro have planned to leverage profits from their famous brand.

We're still waiting on the promised 3.5 rules CC SRD as well, though.
