Watercolour of a farm a couple of kilometres from my house; October, 2018. I’ve sketched this property many times. Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. (In a private collection in the United States.) #MastoArt#watercolour#painting#CanadianArt
💙💛Art Every Day 28 💛💙used my right hand. No way left hand can hold a paintbrush.
Am thinking of my friend Svitlana from Ukraine and everyone in Middle East
and realized I had many things to be grateful for.
This is for anyone who experiencing war and displacement.
Thinking about that made my own situation seem small and trivial.
I appreciate so much all your support.💙💛 #art#resilence#ukraine#war#middleeast#painting#watercolour
A watercolor painting I did of a mussel when my body let me paint for hours. Forgive if you've seen it before. Just kinda want all my stuff in one account. Also hashtags make me feel so egotistical I got problems lol but here are some #watercolor#watercolour#aquarelle#aquarel
Ok. Nobody likes line drawings of old churches. ;) Here’s a little landscape painting of clouds above the NB Trail, which is the railbed of the old Canadian National Railway line from Sackville to Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick, leading to the ferry to Prince Edward Island, Canada. #MastoArt#watercolour#painting
Off topic: in summer I keep a sketch-diary - helps me remember the obscure and beautiful.
This years book is almost full, so here a few outtakes #urbansketching that I liked!
Lutsen Resort
Ink and watercolor sketch

This is a Lundie-designed building in northern Minnesota. Lundie was known for his "Scandinavian-Fantasy" and timber-frame designs using wood pillars and lots of windows. Old Highway 61, now a driveway, is the road that ran in front of the original building. The building in the background was a gas station.
I haven't posted one of my watercolor sketches in a while. Here's one from last weekend at Grand Portage National Monument in northern Minnesota.
This is a brand new sketchbook. It's a Handbook Journal Co. Artist Watercolor Sketchbook Journal, 8.25 x 5.5 Inches, 95lb 200 GSM paper. I like the paper better than the Moleskine watercolor book I just finished.
In the last few days I've switched my painting style almost exclusively towards the cottagecore aesthetic, with very limited palettes of muted gouache colors. It's possible that I'm entering a new phase in my art that might last a while. While cottagecore is not a new style for me, I was switching to other themes whenever I felt like painting something different, mostly with watercolor. But having done a few paintings of that style now, it's obvious that gouache is the right medium for it. You need the layering complexity to get the best out of the style, you need the painterly feel and thickness of the paint. So far, I'm having a blast!
My third Peter Cronin watercolour demo.
I called this ‘Catalogue of Errors’ because there were so many things that weren’t as intended, although I think I’ve successfully hidden many! The result is pleasant, I think, but I may well have another go in a few weeks to see if I can improve it and avoid the errors.
I've spent the last 3 days on this piece, I had this idea in mind for months now but was scared trying it. I don't usually paint without a photo reference, but here I mixed a lot of references and improvised when I couldn't find one
Just plain fun. Inspired by a tutorial by katiewhiteartist on Instagram, but she does it better. Colors: Cobalt Blue, Spring Green, Sap Green, Paynes Grey. Brushes: quill, rigger. #watercolor#watercolour#art#MastoArt
I discovered these lovely little soil-based watercolors by The Art of Soil last week—I love the story behind them, and a soil scientist making soil paints is the epitome of #SciArt is it not?? 😍 Looking forward to trying them out, will report back!
