Always a big fan of the mad shit trainers you find in TK Maxx.

I would not wear these shoes.

Multi-coloured Adidas trainer that is primarily yellow and purple. It has stitched flowers in the heel, with loose threads that are supposed to the stems of the flowers. There’s a small bag of plastic cubes with various letters, and colourful beads. I’ve no idea why. Horrendous.

It occurs to me that the reason I struggle so much with those on the far right is that I honestly can’t understand them. I just can’t put my mind in a place that can comprehend what it is they’re so afraid of.

I could sit with them while they patiently explain that Muslim ray guns are taking over the country, but while there’s zero evidence, I just can’t put myself anywhere near that mindset.

Had a moment this morning where I missed what Twitter used to be.

I followed a guy whose weird niche was that people would send him photos of dumped mattresses they saw, which he would always repost with the comment “Lovely stuff”. It was the kind of odd shit that always made me laugh.

Hadn’t seem him on there for years, then this morning I saw a dumped mattress on my walk to work.

Being on the crane training course yesterday highlighted a very important hole in our working procedures that no one here has apparently considered until now.

We have pre-use checks for our cranes. A simple Google Form to answer yes/no that serves to highlight any issues that need attention.

Turns out that the brake on one crane is fucked, which has been reported over and over again, but the manager of that department apparently doesn't actually look at the reports.

I'd be interested to see if anyone has made a website that examines political promises and tallies them up with the outcomes (if any).

For example; in a manifesto a party promises to increase nurses' pay by 15%, but when in government fight the union and only end up giving them 3%.

I've been thinking about why working class people vote Tory, despite them never, never making good on their promises, and would like to see the data on what they do actually provide.

I guess I understand why it’s the case, but it still blows my mind that British Standards documents aren’t freely available from .gov.uk as a download.

They’re literally the documents that outline how things should be done, but you have to pay a vast amount to access any of them.
