People get so cranky at Black folk for pointing out the irrefutable evidence that Biden's Covid policies got a lot of people long Covid, and caused a lot of other people to die of Covid unnecessarily.

You can get mad at me. You can yell "Trump is worse!" until your voice gets hoarse. I'm not talking about Trump. I'm talking about pandemic decisions made during this administration.

To be clear. Not disagreeing with the main premise. Joe could be better, absolutely. He could always be more progressive, but for an old white guy he's done all right.

I need some new science fiction to read, who has some suggestions? I don't like military sci-fi. For reference, my favorite series is the Expanse, I also enjoyed Scalzi's Collapsing Empire, I love Robert Charles Wilson's books. I mostly enjoy space operas and unique stories about technology, for example I really liked the recent book Mountain in the Sea about AI and intelligent octopus. Suggestions from the awesome Bookstodon community? @bookstodon

I've never applied for unemployment before... I've been fortunate to have not needed it or gotten work in a reasonable time frame.

However the industry (tech) isn't doing great right now. So I might need to..

@GottaLaff he must be so angry! he has so little control, and he's used to being pampered and deferred to like royalty.

Now 4 days a week he has to sit still, be quiet, and pay attention. Three things he is not good at.

And no golf to cheat at, no gold toilets, no hamburgers to consume, no adoring fans...

He must think this is what hell is. :)

Whenever a video game franchise gets rebooted/adapted for any kind of mass medium - as may happen with the new Fallout tv series - some people go back and play the games again, and, if you are one of those and you haven't tried Fallout 4 with the Sim Settlements 2 mod and you kind of liked Fallout 4 but want it to be a vastly better and even EPIC game? I'm no Inside-Baseball-level gamernerd but HOLY SHIT TRY FALLOUT 4 WITH SIM SETTLEMENTS 2.

They just wrapped it with the Chapter 3 release last fall and it makes it a whole new game, like both on a society-rebuilding level and on a fucking-up-post-apocalyptic-Nazis level. And if you LIKE to fuck up post apocalyptic Nazis - and honestly who doesn't? - man, you have some fun in store.

@lilithsaintcrow I read a bunch of Jo Clayton in the early 80's as I burned through the 4 small shelves my little redneck town library had. Diadem of the Stars was the trilogy they had I think.

Those 4 shelves of Sci Fi/Fantasy were key to forming me who I am today.

I too might need to re-read some Jo Clayton as well.
