@koz Can your printer do resonance compensation? You could make those labels significantly clearer without sacrificing much speed.

What are you using to put the text on the front? I've seen a few methods, but it's rarely made easy.

StarkRG,

@koz Ahh, that makes sense. I still haven't gotten around to try different sized nozzles. I've got them, I just need to get a better method for changing them.

Cue the GOP continuing to loudly support the 1st and especially the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution but not the 14th because that one is apparently woke.

StarkRG,
@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net avatar

@thomasapowell They'll verbally defend the 1st amendment, but they never actually defend it.

StarkRG,
@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net avatar

@thomasapowell For that matter, they don't defend all of the second amendment either. It's one poorly-written sentence and they've manged to get the Supreme Court to ignore the first half of it, the part about well-regulated militias. Not to mention that the original purpose of those well-regulated militias has been superseded by the existence of the National Guard and ubiquitous police (also not having to fight the natives for land), so the second amendment seems pretty unnecessary.

StarkRG,
@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net avatar

@volkris @thomasapowell I already proposed my fix: get rid of it, it's unnecessary. For some strange reason it's still there.

@RamenCatholic Sadly, nobody wanted it even though it was free, plus the cost of moving it somewhere else, so it was torn down.

@indigenous_commentator From XKCD: "While hair isn't as strong as steel, it's just about the strongest material in your body, with a tensile strength rivaling or exceeding that of bone.
"This tensile strength is why performers are able to hang by their hair at the circus. In fact, from a materials standpoint, it's actually more impressive that performers are able to hang by their arms."

So you're better off with someone saving you by grabbing your hair than your arm.

It has occurred to me that there are, today, adults walking the earth who have no idea that "long distance", meaning phone calls between two people who are relatively far away from each other, was expensive, and thus made rarely, and generally was once a thing. Long distance calls were special.

Long distance meant two different cities. Maybe even the nearest major city if you lived far enough away from it. International calls were a whole other thing on top of that, almost incomprehensible.

StarkRG,
@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net avatar

@PaulW Long distance often just meant another area code, which sometimes might have been the same metropolitan area if it was densely populated. Then there was local toll calls where you were charged for a long distance call even though it was within the same area code because the area code covered a geographically large area.

@RamenCatholic I've been pretty happy with my FLsun Super Racer, though I wish I got the V400. They recently released a couple more that look cool if way too expensive. Deltas are fun but have a tendency to lose accuracy towards the edges. My next is going to be some kind of CoreXY printer. I'd like to build a Voron kit, but they're pretty expensive from what I've seen. The Creality K1 looks pretty nifty, though I'm extremely wary of anything with proprietary software.

Between Majel Roddenberry's appearance as Lwaxana Troi and the relatively major role the DS9 computer had in this story, she pulled double duty for this episode.

StarkRG,
@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net avatar

@spatula_tattoo @petertrek1 @allstartrek That is correct, I don't think she ever talked to herself on DS9, only on TNG. Interestingly, she was overly polite to the Enterprise computer but the opposite when talking to the station's computer.
