Instead of that, I will tell you that we owe this people a lot, and that people hosted by Meta want them GONE, for Christ's sake. These people deserves our care and protection. My (oh so wrong) line of thinking was something like this: there are millions of people locked in Facebook systems and it's difficult for them to leave. @pluralistic mentions this with the term "switching costs" in his now seminal piece about how corporate social media networks die https://pluralistic.net/2023/01/21/potemkin-ai/?amp
