Well, Buck Rogers' robot wasn't exactly a superhero but he certainly fits food.

@FrankFrank That level of statement leaves strong suspicion that you're highly paid to be moronic.

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@FrankFrank That sounds like an offer to provide transportation and time at your expense.

There was a time, when I dearly loved #TerryPratchett and #DouglasAdams, and they will always have a sweet spot in my heart for the many laughs and for all the cultural heritage, they left us.

However: Whenever I now grab one of their #books, their style and language feels terribly outdated and, frankly, boring to me.

Unpopular opinion, or do you agree?

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@mina Nope. I expect you're bored because you've already read them.
    Their wordcraft remains timeless.

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@crooksandliars I agree with @Tengrain that the following part is particularly important:

    """""""""""""""""""""
“We’ve gone from one of the most productive to one of the least productive Congresses over the course of Biden’s time in office. Most Americans have noticed the disparity, but this metric does not appear to have much impact on their overall opinion. Views of Congress have remained largely negative over the past three years regardless of which party controls the House,” said Murray.
    """""""""""""""""""""""

....because it's important to point out that the anti-government nutwing of the GOP thinks "the government that governs best is the government that governs least". Refraining from passing legislation is actually an objective because they don't like gummint. That's the whole point. They also believe that their worst candidate is still better than any Dem candidate. The fact that their worst candidates have actually gotten elected bears this out.

Will Putin increase his US election interference on Trump's behalf, or will Putin give up on using Trump as a weapon?

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@RickiTarr Apparently enough people have because when such a character is cast in an entertainment program, they're recognized. Eg Eddie Haskell in Leave It To Beaver, and Jon Lovitz' liar character in SNL, to name just a couple.

Ho hum day for . I did see a couple of Sulphurs and a Monarch, but no pix. The lack of small butterbirds is shocking. Today’s only (barely) recordable encounter was a lone Silvery Blue. I got tons of video but the butterfly was mostly out of focus.

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@CWilbur If your location is the US I hope you reported the monarch sighting to Journey North. ❤

    claralistensprechen3rd,

@CWilbur Ah! Well, Journey North tracks a lot of migrations and the monarch migration isn't the only one it tracks. You can report first sightings of robins, Painted Lady butterflies, hummingbirds etc.
