I think it is more likely that the encountered racism that had nothing to do with egregious segregation or blatant racism.

Take no offense to this, just some food for thought. You, most likely, never experienced people making loans at worse rates, or following you in stores, pulling you over simply for being black.

When one sees people look the other way when you’re on the sidewalk, you see far less optimism than what you’re describing.

One of the worst experiences I had in high school in was being the only black guy and the English teacher had the class read, out loud, from Huckleberry Fin. Each time someone had to say “Ner Jim”, the kids would put extra emphasis on “Ner”. Every time. Teacher did nothing.

In college, I majored in Computer Science. The freshman class had a 70% failure rate. My advisor warned me against playing too much basketball and to focus in class.

Hey! Old school day!! Had an old Quadraphonic XL (PC Clone) that had one of those drives. Wrote my first program in the included language: BAASIC.

Solid system. Was ahead of its time.

Unfortunately. Its big mistake was that it was an “all-in-one” that included both a Betamax and a keyboard with the notoriously fickle “AlphaMate”, a keyboard where the keys were in alphabetical order.

Very efficient once you got used to it(made you fast!), but the skill wasn’t very portable.

The mistake the Dems made in 2008 and repeated in 2022 is negotiating with the GOP( 2022 Manchin, make no mistake) in good faith.

The GOP will move the goal post, waste time, then not provide support.

The should have jammed through with Covid support, followed by voting reform.

It would be a totally different story if the 81 year old was bad at his job because of his age. In fact, I think his age has been a PLUS in a very complicated time. He's gotten A LOT of things done. I'm not on board with all his choices, but SO FUCKING WHAT. OVERALL, he's done very well. He's a BRIDGE to the future. The future WE HAVE TO CHANGE TOGETHER. Loved “The Marvels” - it was the perfect follow up to both the original Captain Marvel movie, and the Ms Marvel series. Iman Vellani was wonderful in particular. Lots of laughs and some standout action sequences. Highly recommended, best MCU film in years.
