I recently asked a friend with an EV if range anxiety is still an issue. His response is that solvency anxiety is a bigger issue. He raised Fisker and Lucid as two examples of companies that might expire before your car does.

Tesla now gives similar vibes.

Was watching random YouTube videos, this weekend. One of them featured Noem's appearance on a news segment trying to defend here statements in her book. Dunno if it was the lighting or if whoever her makeup artist was, they decided to stop working for a puppy-killer, or what, but she did not look good. Said to my wife, "the 'porn actress' style of makeup that seems to be popular among MAGA women probably doesn't work for anyone over 50, let alone Noem." Wife responded that she had noticed how so many MAGA personalities seemed to favor that look.

I mean, it's a look that really doesn't look good on anyone, but caking the makeup on and the harsh contouring and water-ballet blush, shadow and lipstick just is not a good look for a fifty-something in ungenerous studio lighting.

When I was a kid I figured out that if I wanted to know how the magician did a trick I shouldn't look where they pointed. Then I figured out that this didn't just apply to magicians, but to politicians, media, clergy, and more.

I wonder if Elon’s plan involves letting supercharging network rollouts choke and fail now that NACS has become the standard so that Uncle Sam swoops in again as savior. Privatize the profits and socialize the losses. Ad nauseum.

And that may also be why he wants that mega stock pay package. Then the company gets bought, he makes out like Ali Baba, and can focus on screwing up SpaceX.

Beautiful stark landscape. I was there in Early Jan 2023 and most of the land was still very dry. Lots of carcasses, victims of the severe drought of 2022. But the rains were coming in slow, the swamp was green and lush.

Everyone feared that there would Jan. 6 style riots if Trump was ever indicted, and when he finally was, there was nothing. That fear ebbed with each subsequent indictment, becoming a laughing stock that nothing ever happened, despite how much Trump begged his minions to take to the streets.
Now we have people fearing that if Trump is jailed for any reason, he'll use it for massive fund raising. I'm calling bullshit on that notion. Who's left to donate? That well is dry. There will be no riots.
