I am having a difficult time visioning 5 years from now, what I want to do and then how to get there.

Some of this is due to the chaos of the last few years, but I also think it could be a challenge due to #AuDHD

Also I am 42 so midlife stuff?

I am someone who gets migraines and have since I was 8. The reason was never uncovered, but I know migraines are more common among neuroduvergent folks like myself.

My question for you is this:

When you have pain, what do you do to help manage it so your emotional regulation goes out the window?

In short, I can be mean when I am in the midst of migraine.

I want to do better.

Any advice?

There is a tree of many branches.

Some of the branches give delicious fruit, some beautiful flowers, some poison fruit and some give nothing.

With all these branches, it means all the attributes are part of the trunk of the tree.

All these attributes are also held there in it.

Would you eat the delicious fruit or smell the flowers from the beautiful parts?

Or does doing so support the ugly parts living as it supports the trunk?

Can one be connected to the tree without ingesting poison?

I was confused.

I was picking up shifts at a friends cafe after losing my job.

All I did was pick up the phone and say hello and then this.

I stammered...indeed I can't fully remember what I replied.

I did eventually calm myself and tell my boss.

This event was 10 years ago and followed manure dumped in our driveway.

I'm just over here trying to live my life and not be threatened at work for existing.

Fuck hate.

Travelling for a week for work is exhausting. It leaves me feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, and burnt out. Like a sponge wrung out.

I get home and am irritable and mean and asking for space to decompress is taken as a personal slight that I don’t like someone, when it’s only that I need to calm my body down and have no expectations on me.

I love this person very much but don’t know how to manage this part of work travel.

I can be pretty stubborn and not great at apologizing. It wasnt something that was modelled for me in a healthy way growing up.

That combined with the sometimes awkwardness of my #AuDHD social skills, I find that having a qualifying question has been helping me.

So what I am working on understanding is that if I am at the point of "I wonder if I should apologize?" then the answer is a definitive "YES" (also defaulting to yes)

Do you have a trick to know when an apology is appropriate vs not?

The older I get, the more I find being in the city to be overwhelming. There are so many people and sounds and smells and it is all sensory overload.

Manhattan (and especially MoMA!) was interesting for the day but I’m ready to get home to the forest.

I am back in my hotel room with white noise going and ordered food I make at home for delivery to calm my nervous system.
