The ICJ rulings last week as to Israel also included rulings as to Hamas; including a cease fire order and an order that Hamas release all Israeli hostages. The US through Anthony said that Israel can ignore the ICJ rulings directed to it. I assume Blinken is also directing Hamas to ignore the rulings against it, to keep fighting, and to continue holding the Israeli hostages.

    @grivettcarnac Liberall voters and NDP voters who don't vote strategically to defeat a Conservative are the ones with "zero fucking clue."
    Liberal or NDP voters who don't vote strategically under First Past the Post voting system just gives the Doug Ford candidate a free ride into the legislature. Progressive voters, if you can't take the time to find out which Liberal or NDP candidate has the best chance of winning, and vote for that candidate, then please don't vote at all.

    @grivettcarnac The fact that in this decade, two visionary modern female political leaders, Sanna Marin of Finland and Jacinda Ardern were brutally driven from office by the white male boomer establishment eagerly assisted by the MSM in those countries tells me that the oligarchs will not tolerate the kind of leadership you are looking for. Imagine what the Toronto Sun will do to someone who comes onto our political scene with a new and exciting vision. You can't fix this by the ballot box.

    Strange times here in Ontario at the moment. We have Federal Conservative leader Poilievre telling us life here is terrible and its the fault of the Federal Liberals while Conservative Provincial Premier Ford is spending millions telling us how wonderful life is under his government.

    A small town mayor in Alabama killed himself after a conservative web site published pictures of him in women’s clothing and make-up. The closet is a hard place to be, and outing anyone can be very harmful. We need a society where it’s okay to be who you want to be so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else.     HOW OFTEN must governments make the same fucking mistake? We made it Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. Carpet bombing style warfare never does much besides destroy shit that just has to be rebuilt eventually. All it does is lose the hearts and minds of the locals. Who then just want to kill you.

Since 2015 it has morphed into a white supremacist fascist party that now is anti-abortion, promotes homophobia, denies climate change, denies the horrors of residential schools, favours for profit health care, will repeal universal child care, and universal dental care, opposes guaranteed income, opposed health mandates, supported the Ottawa convoy terrorists; I can go on but do I need to now.

    Apparently thinks it has a journalistic obligation to keep me, a taxpayer informed on the cost of the PM'S vacations. But in the same way I pay for the PM'S vacations I also pay for Poilievre's vacation, the vacations of all MPS, Senators, the Parliamentary cleaning staff etc, and every federal government employee. So to be informed of the vacation costs of the federal government I wait for to report on these other vacation costs, not just the PMs. Hold my breath?

    @raymondpert Yeah, because raising the rate of interest working people and small businesses pay on mortgages and loans will force the gasoline companies who don't have loans but cash coming out of their orifices to lower the price of gasoline. Once again, this would be the Bank of Canada blaming and punishing the victims of inflationary prices, not the perpetrators.

    @thepoliticalcat One take away from watching several seasons of Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr. on PBS is that, in 2023, white folks have black ancestors, some of whom might have been slaves, and black folks have white ancestors, some of whom were slave holders. One of Angela Davis' ancestors arrived in America on the Mayflower! I do think maintaining these divisions helps keep Republican politicians in power. This humbly offered by an outside observer.
