So, I went to this beautiful dairy yesterday, and when I got out of the car, one at a time about six dogs of various sizes and types come out to greet me. The last one was a little weiner dog, who just kept barking, and I was worried I was offending him in some way. The owner came out, and said, "Oh don't worry about that, he just loves attention, and belly rubs, but he doesn't know how to get them, so he just keeps barking, and scares people."
And sure enough the moment I crouched down, he stopped barking and rolled on his back for belly scratches. Anyway, I relate to this dog.

I will be starting to create home vids for fellow , starting this month. Exercises will be as & as possible.

Several of them will be done in a chair. Some standing & others are laying down. I don't see many exercise vids made by & for folks available online. I got frustrated, trying to find exercise vids, made by fellow disabled folks.

So, I'm going to stop complaining about lack of them. I'll start to create them, myself.

@msquebanh absolutely! As much as I like my physical therapist, she just hasn't had ankle injuries, just learning about and working with them. I think until someone has experienced any physical issue, they can't understand the pain and frustration that comes from exercising and stretching.

Watched the 2001 movie Conspiracy about a real life meeting of German higher-ups at the beginning of the war about what to do about the "Jewish problem." It's heartbreaking and very relatable to what is going on in the US today. (I can't speak about what's going on in other countries as I don't follow their politics as closely as here, though Sunak in the UK sounds pretty damn close to some of the guys in the movie.)

It's a must see for people into history and politics. I think every high school student should see it as part of their history curriculum.

Part of our members & us, with our (holding new paddle). We train every Saturday morning, from .

Today, we worked on more race stops, transitions & on improving team timing/synchronization.

I led a good warm-up before we started & was put into front near end of practice. Our coach is also training me on doing drumming/calling out paddle beats so I can go on multiple boats for races. Our first race is May 26th!

Me with 4 other female team mates & our coach (she is on far right, holding black paddle) on upper wharf at Fairway Gorge Paddling Club. The Gorge Waterway is behind us.

Tomorrow, my Indigenous friend is taking me to a #Wsanec #SweatLodge for a full moon #healing sweat. My friend is going to location in morning to start setting things up. Once things are all setup, I'll be transported there for several hours of sweat lodge native healing ceremonies.

In May, I'm looking forward to driving my little mobility scooter around the community, with my little floorboard box & gifting locals that I see with some easy care food & flower starters.
I grow from seeds so often have a lot of extras that I don't have room for in my gardens. I sell off some & gift the others. It's a great way for me to get out & about in our community. People enjoy getting random healthy plant gifts. It's a cheerful, community sharing exercise & it brings me joy to do it 🥰

I'm now waiting to hear back from my coach about being a drummer for an upcoming race 🙂

In other personal paddle sports news - I'll be testing out outrigger on Sunday afternoon. On waters from 1:30pm-3pm. Going with my coach, a Mom & her 2 kids. I'll take it easy after Saturday paddling practice so I won't be too sore for outrigger trials, next day.

Also, taking a galpal out soon, to kayak full length of Gorge!

@msquebanh this was, gulp, 17 years ago. The price at the time was reasonable. I didn't have a car, so it was the bus down to the ferry, then my friend picked me up at the terminal. I miss the Pacific Northwest, but it's so expensive now I'd never be able to afford to live there.

@msquebanh that's great news!! When I did my study abroad in Vancouver, I took the ferry to visit a friend in Victoria for a long weekend. It was a blast! I had taken the ferry several times in Seattle, but the BC ferry was magical.

Has anyone here taken a golf cart, made changes to it & turned it into a street legal electric vehicle?

In my dreams, last night, I was driving around roads, on an upcycled, electric golf cart with a trailer attached to back, with my cat in a backpack windowed carrier in passenger seat. We were heading to a cats cafe.

@msquebanh they're so cute and useful. And they go up to 60 mph so you can totally drive them around places.

The only reason I don't have one is that here in Ohio, they're only legal to drive on streets zoned 35 mph or slower so I wouldn't even be able to go to the grocery store with it. But I can take my ebike which only gets up to 25 mph...

@msquebanh going 25 mph on my ebike is scary fast. I can't imagine going 40 on a mobility scooter!! It's funny that the ebike feels fast but in a car it feels slow.

Unless it's chicken and bacon and cheese pizza, then blue cheese gets drizzled over the whole thing!
