olimould, If, like me, you've been watching TV's #TheBear, you may also, like me, have been slightly irked by it's glorification of #gentrification.
Not to take away from the quality of the show of course, but it's an issue for sure, so I blogged about it here:

DavidBHimself, What is the most terrifying scene or shot you have ever watched in a movie or TV show?
I'll start. It's in Twin Peaks.
I don't want to spoil, but it involves a couch and Bob.I may have watched it a dozen times, but it terrifies me every single time. There is some dark magic involved in that scene, I'm telling you.
Seriously, if you haven't watched Twin Peaks by now.... drop all that you're doing and go watch Twin Peaks.
DavidBHimself, @stevenray This is why David Lynch is at the very top for me as a director.
He can elicit all the feelings imaginable in his movies. It's one of the reasons I love Twin Peaks with a passion. You experience pretty much all of them throughout the series and the movie.
stevenray, @DavidBHimself yep,agreed! 👍
TarkabarkaHolgy, If you think Bridgerton was bad for anachronism:
I am watching The Buccaneers right now and it has someone drunk telegramming his ex😂
TarkabarkaHolgy, @BramMeehan sadly no. I loved Dickinson
TarkabarkaHolgy, @CastAtWill lol win
keira_reckons, Our recuperating household needs a new bingeable show.
We loved Ted Lasso, Good Omens, Severance, Beforeigners, Lucifer and The Good Place, and the first season of Altered Carbon, but couldn't stand the second.
So all genres are on the table, but a general upbeatness or a mystery where the good/bad is clear is preferred.
Not keen on being asked to like terrible characters.
Any recommendations?
janl, @keira_reckons the other two, reservation dogs, heartstopper, the owl house, lower decks

stpaultim, If you like British comedies, I think you'll like this show from Australia.
Season two came out recently and I loved it! I hope that there will be more in the future.
stpaultim, I haven't met any other Fisk fans in the USA yet, but I'll be recommending it to others.
I like shows from other countries, so I'll be looking up additional Austrailian comedies, including Utopia.
stpaultim, A quick check indicates that Utopia might not be available on any of the major streaming platforms in the US right now.
I may have to get creative.

DavidBHimself, It sometimes takes me a couple of months to finish an 8 episode long mini series. (I'm not exactly a binge watcher)
Meanwhile the whole internet: go watch this show! This new series is awesome. Have you heard of this TV show? Don't miss it!
How do you do it, people? Do you just spend your time in front of a TV?
DavidBHimself, @ottaross @DominickGalang I don't know if it's a change in the writing or a change in the audience though. 😉 I heard people complaining about filler episodes since the internet has been a thing (and at the time there actually were filler episodes in serialized shows as there had to be 22 episodes in a TV season.)
Also there are the case of people not liking it when things go fast. I don't understand people who complain about the pace of Games of Thrones last season. While it may have benefitted from one more episode maybe, people who talk about many more episodes, or even one more season talk nonsense. The only way to make that last chapter longer is more filler episodes. The pace had to be fast. It was part of the point.
ottaross, @DavidBHimself @DominickGalang maybe it's a comment on the quality of the character development too.
For chars & setting I like a lot, I'd almost be fine with them doing nothing but sit around & chat, just to prolong our time with them – eg Ghosts (UK) is like that. With less engaging chars I need to see plot pace keep me engaged.
rotfarm, If you are looking for a good new show to watch Please check out Reservation Dogs. It is freaking amazing and you will not regret it.

WhatTheChel, @LibrarianRA To this day, I mess the Mr when he's driving by saying, "Mind the pedestrian, Richard!" 😂
MsHearthWitch, I have finished watching THE MAKANAI and now there is a giant Kiyo shaped hole in my heart.
The two shows I was hoping to watch as a followup SAMURAI GOURMET and MIDNIGHT DINER both don't have dubs, which make it harder to watch while working :(
MsHearthWitch, @Naksu Oh yes! I know JOC very well. I cook from it most days. I've even had the pleasure of taking an online cooking class with Nami, the author of the site.
We learned how to make shokupan!
And her husband is a delight, him and I were comparing espresso corners, lmao.
Naksu, @MsHearthWitch much envy!! How wonderful!!!
stpaultim, I recently finished watching the first season of The Bear.
It's a show that really resonated with me, but I'm not sure if it will appeal to others - unless they like this kind of drama. The series delves into the lives of interesting characters and is expertly crafted, featuring excellent performances.
Looking forward to season 2, which is already available.
Bcollinsmn, @stpaultim season 2 is much better. The Christmas dinner episode features an incredible performance by Jamie Lee Curtis. It's intense.
stpaultim, Just finished season 2. It had me in tears and your correct about the Christmas dinner episode.
Was quite surprised at the line-up of actors that made appearances in that episode (and other episodes - thinking about chef Terry).
TarkabarkaHolgy, Hungarian Started watching the #DarylDixon Walking Dead spinoff.
Here's my pro tip: before you start, make a bingo sheet with every stereotypically French thing you can think of (according to Americans).
The show becomes a lot more enjoyable after that 😆
I am currently waiting for the Emily in Paris zombie to shuffle in.
ladyteruki, Hungarian @TarkabarkaHolgy : I'll consider myself warned XD
debrecenisrac46, Hungarian @TarkabarkaHolgy so it's a direct sequel to worlds beyond?
tournesol, Just finished #TheBear season 1 and don’t think I know of any tvshow which portrays best that feeling of anxiety, lack of air, mind fuzzy and nobody makes sense anymore.
Welp, it is a really good season, I can’t wait going into Season 2. But maybe will wait a bit cause it’s : a lot.

Best of luck and I hope you enjoy the show when you get around to it.
GinevraCat, @MsHearthWitch Is it good on characterization? Netflix is recommending it to me.
stefano, Tonight, I'll be watching the final episode of #TheOffice. Whenever I finish a TV series, it feels like the end of an era. It's the same feeling I get when I complete a graphic adventure game. Somehow, it feels like it accompanied me through a phase of my life, and The Office has been a part of my evenings for many months. This is why there are some series and games I've never completed, simply because I'm too attached to them. I confess: I've never (by choice) finished Zak McKracken.

wertham, Bob Clampett pitched the idea of a funny monster family to Universal c1943. No progress til 1963 when a similar idea was submitted by Rocky and Bullwinkle writers Allan Burns & Chris Hayward. Proposal was later handed to writers Norm Liebman & Ed Haas, who wrote a pilot script, Love Thy Monster. produced by Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher (Leave It To Beaver).

stpaultim, Rewatching the Wheel of Time series in prep for the new season that is already started coming out. I'll give it 4/5 stars. It has a lot of little things that I don't like, but not enough to seriously bother me.
Hoping to get to the latest series before it's fully released, so I can pace myself a bit and avoid the pressure to binge. I'm very susceptible.
bryan, @stpaultim The second season third episode (I think) had a moment that was way too gory for me. I'm passing on the rest until my wife watches it. As a point of reference, Game of Thrones was too gory for me. I'm not big on that sort of thing.
stpaultim, I've been watching the Last Kingdom. If I can handle that, I think I'll be good here.
stpaultim, (edited ) I just finished watching Who Is Erin Carter? on Netflix. I think I can give it a mild recommendation. It's not bad, but I do have reservations. Lot's of action.
I really loved the actor that plays Harper (the daughter).
maranjo, @stpaultim I'm afraid I didn't complete episode 1 . I found the premise and script just a bit lame, for my taste. Ranked highly here in the UK, according to Netflix!
stpaultim, Fair enough. It had just enough that I did like to outweigh the things I didn't like.
