Polish hackers figured out that a train manufacturer had programmed its trains to break down after certain dates, or if they were serviced at another company's workshop.
GOOD NEWS ALERT!
The people of Poland have voted for democracy. The opposition has won a majority of seats and the authoritarian PiS is defeated.
The main factor was huge turnout.

A new road bridge got opened in December in a small town somewhere in Poland. For six months it was being used by regular traffic.
Elections are coming, though, so the Polish PM decided he needs to officially open it, with media present and all. And so, we get to behold this absolute gem — an announcement from the local municipality saying that:
> On May 18th, 2023, between 10:00 and 19:00, the bridge in [location] will be closed due to its opening.
Newly elected Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Dec. 12 that Poland will “loudly and decisively demand the full mobilization of the free world, the Western world, to help Ukraine in this war.”

Power to the Poles, standing up to their equivalent of Trumpism. 500k people, including Lech Walesa, in the streets to protest anti-democracy, anti-union and anti-LGBT politics.
“'The whole of Poland, the whole of Europe and the whole world sees how strong we are and how we are ready to fight for democracy and freedom again, like we did 30, 40 years ago,' [Former PM] Tusk told the crowds at the start of the rally." #Poland

Activist sees ‘new beginning’ after Polish state TV apologizes for years of anti-LGBTQ propaganda
“It took me by surprise,” said Bart Staszewski, one of two activists invited on air Sunday evening when the state TVP host apologized to them for the rhetoric directed at their community for years.
"The Polish state should not budge from its position, military support of Ukraine should not be questioned," said Donald Tusk, Poland's former prime minister.
Poland’s opposition parties look like they’ve won a solid victory in the country’s general election, according to an exit poll released immediately after voting ended.
Although Law and Justice is the largest party, three leading opposition parties would have a majority of seats in the 460-member parliament.
If the result holds it would mark a drastic change in Poland after eight years of rule by the nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party.
"We cannot in any way harm Ukraine in a situation where the fate of the war is being decided... I am counting on reflection and rejection of this form of protest," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.
First exit poll results of Polish elections are available, and based on these it looks like PiS might not remain in power, which would be good news. Let's wait for official results though!
About 73% of eligible voters voted. That is massive and phenomenal. Probably best result in any elections in #Poland since 1989. 🎉
But two things I am mainly interested in are:
the result of Konfederacja, the far-right libertarians
how many people voted in the referendum part of this election cycle

#Poland foreign minister Radek Sikorski speech at UN Security Council nicely pointing out lies in earlier #Russia Nebenzya speech. A really good debunk of key Russian narratives, point by point.
