Who needs hymn books nowadays? Yet the Church of Scotland is bringing out a new one. I have thoughts!

I'm an infertile atheist. In a fit of desperation while doing IVF, I went into a church and promised that if I could have children, I'd have them baptized. I had twins and returned to fulfill my promise because of superstition. I was then told that because they were IVF babies, they had no souls and couldn't be baptized. So, I went back to my original FUCK RELIGION stance. 🙄

Look at the human destruction caused by their child sexual abuse.

You don’t need religion to lead a good, happy and loving life.

We’re all born with the only “” we need.

NONE.

The reason your church and way of life are dying is that you’ve managed to shrink your God down to a pitiful human size. If you had an omnipotent God, you wouldn’t be so fearful of change. If you had a God who protected His flock, you wouldn’t need so many guns. If you believed we are all loved as we are, you wouldn’t be so frightened of others. If you truly understood that you had been forgiven much, you would be much more forgiving.

This 3+ hour video of the entire history of all major Christian denominations is very informative and worth looking at if you have interest but it took me a long time of digesting it in 15-20 minute segments to finally finish. Great charting too.

Finally had to tell a formerly close friend who's now a "Christian" DudeBro that I'm no longer interested in hearing his propaganda and that he has absolutely destroyed any credibility he once had as a person who claimed to follow .

As his own Bible has said, "No one can follow two masters," and he has traded Jesus for Trump.

Our friendship will never be the same. Sadz. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you have friends or family who are convinced that the Bible commands to stand with even when they are committing then you should send them this. Of course they will probably reject it if their favorite TV preacher is saying something different, but at least you can try.

The Church in a Secular Age series of books is just. So. Good! The historical narrative Andrew Root expertly describes of 20th and 21st century America and how mass consumer culture, mass media, and Protestant Christianity contributed to and adapted to each other to create the hell we live in today is just 🤯.

My wife is FINALLY seeing how terrible the YouVersion app is!

This whole "celebrity culture" we have in the world is a huge problem that hardly no one is paying attention to.

I couldn't care less about your upcoming album, single, book, or study, or the fact that you are from a popular mega church. Why are we not doing Godly things FOR GOD?!

Absolutely drives me insane.

Existence of a "historical Jesus" doubtful

"Given the poor state of the existing sources, and the atrocious methods used by mainstream Biblical historians, the matter will likely never be resolved. In sum, there are clearly good reasons to doubt Jesus’ historical existence – if not to think it outright improbable."
