The thing that most #dungeonmaster folk dream of: A player asked about the #lore of the place they currently are at. Being a good #DM I had nothing prepared, because no one cares or ever asks.
Came up with it all on the spot. Was fun. The magic school is either a splinter off an orange marble dropped by a Goblin Wizard or founded by a crazy cat lady who just wanted peace and quiet and ripped a continent out of the planet to get it, eventually taking on students later.
We're loving the sidekick rules in our family D&D game but I'm having a hard time balancing the encounters, something I'm not very good at anyway. Definitely a challenge!
One of my favorite things as a #dungeonmaster , that I recently started:
One of the players wanted info about an NPC. I have every other player whisper me one rumor and one truth about that NPC. I randomized the list and added my own. Then the first player rolled a D6 twice to "pick" from the rumors and truths. They don't know if it's a rumor or truth, just what their character "knows". Everyone is involved in world building and the ideas are usually super great
Here are the new items available on #Etsy this week. More PHBR goodness, Rangers and Elves and Priests, oh my! A couple of classic adventures, and a copy of White Dwarf Magazine from the 80s.
#Farscape is like a #DnD campaign in many ways, or at least a good hint at how you might want to structure one as a #dungeonmaster .
Individual characters with different strengths and weaknesses, all pushed together by chance and looking to fulfill their own goals, some of which align.
Episodes sometimes put one character in the spotlight with their backstory and resolve some stuff about them. Then the next character and so on and so forth.
I'm working on a dungeon planner app. The app works with ROOM and DOOR being the two main concepts. My problem with these terms is, that they are visually too close, so I would like to change at least one.
And suggestions for this?
I'm looking for a good alternative term for:
"Enclosed space in a dungeon plan" (currently called room)
"Connection between two spaces) (currently called door)
I haven't been able to creatively write more than a page for over a decade. #DnD and #ttrpg s have given me room to slowly ease back into it with running campaigns as a #dungeonmaster and #homebrew worlds.
In yesterday's #DND session which we had in The Woven Dream, I realized I am lacking as a #dungeonmaster for #horror type scenarios.
We had a bit of a #creepy encounter in more of a #nightmare than a #dream. I really tried to lean into the creepy actions and noises and everything, but I creeped myself out too much and had to dial it down.
Was a fun session though, despite being two great players down.
My main concept is to turn the equipment that your players already have into magic items over time, to lessen the clutter and create a stronger relation between player character and magic item.
I write it all. From a lot of original works, to long ongoing RP stories, to deep and insightful fanfiction that my friends thankfully love. I have Doctor Who stories published as well. I have a following on Archive of Our Own. My best friends (who I met elsewhere) are @strangeseawolf, @QuokkaMocha, @doctorwanderer, and @DoctorMonkey2. I have a paranormal podcast too! #WritersCoffeeClub 11.17 — Do you draw out maps, floorplans, diagrams, etc. for key set pieces in your writing?
I'm a #DungeonsAndDragons / #DnD and #TTRPG Game or #DungeonMaster. I play so many different tabletop RPG games. I'm used to drawing out floorplans, diagrams, and maps. I like to be artsy. That comes easily for me, and I love doing it.
A galaxy spanning 5th edition D&D supplement that takes place in the spacefaring futuristic setting of Draken Star!!

• Over 50 new magic items and artifacts!
I have created a #dnd#dnd5e compatible #crafting system that does not rely on rolltables, is flexible, halfway simple and allows for the greatest amount of creativity from both the dungeon master as well as the player.
Another wonderful Wednesday session done. One of my players is retiring a loved pc after a hard battle and will be bringing something new and awesome next week. The player is great at making pcs so I'm excited. #pf2e#pathfinder2e#ttrpg#dnd5e#5e
