The Federal Trade Commission is STILL accepting complaints from the public related to the shortage of #Adderall#Vyvanse#Methylphenidate#Concerta and ADHD medications generally.
Hopping on a #bus to return to your #hometown during #festive#holidays may soon become a thing of the past if nothing is done to halt the declining number of bus drivers
With at least 5,000 #vacancies to fill, it has been suggested that the government offer free #training to those interested in becoming #busdrivers
The #shortage was expected to become more severe with each passing year
"Citing the Water Basin Organization of the Valley of Mexico, local outlet La Razón de México reported last week that officials fear this "day zero" — when the Cutzamala System will no longer have enough water for residents — could come on June 26 and last until September. Locals are already struggling to have enough water, with many going "days, if not weeks, without running water in their houses,"" #water#shortage#Mexico#MexicoCity#climate
Given the impact this has on so many you would think there would be building pressure for DEA to get this resolved and done with. I guess as long as they get theirs everything is “fine?”
“The Empty Adderall Factory A drugmaker’s feud with the DEA is exacerbating the ADHD meds crisis — at a rate of 600 million missing doses a year.” #Intelligencer
"Oh it's-a lonesome away from your kindred and all
By the campfire at night we'll hear the wild dingoes call

Sometimes I go to Market Basket (regional US grocery store) and they have none of some standard produce item. I think that's just how Market Basket rolls. I went yesterday and they were out of bananas. No organic, no conventional, no mini: no bananas. Other times it's been green peppers, zucchini, broccoli, and probably several other things I've long forgotten about

That said, there are reports of a looming global banana shortage, so could be the local beginnings of that:
"The first and most important cause of the banana shortage is #ClimateChange.. resulting in poor harvests across the world.. Experts have estimated that there will be an 85% decrease in global supply from 2020 to 2023" https://globalsupermarketnews.com/banana-shortage-2023
I have spent some of today learning about the 2011 #Norwegian "butter panic".
#Butter saw a serious #shortage in late 2011 after too much rain & mismanagement. #Christmas was near & prices soared to €39/NOK 300 for 250g.
#Swedish supermarkets gave butter handouts to Norwegian customers & the #Danes had a TV special to help their neighbours, resulting in 4000 buttery gifts.
It's actually an interesting study in #monopolies & the problems of #rich countries.
The shortage of workers in Russia's non-defence industries has increased due to mobilisation and conscription, especially in the IT sector after the massive departure of specialists from the country.
Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical giant behind the super popular "Ozempic" diabetic drug, announces that Canada will experience an intermittent short supply for the drug in the coming months.
While it was originally meant to treat Type 2 Diabetes, endocrinologists have been prescribing higher dosage of the drug for cosmetic weight-loss purposes instead, which adds to the supply constraints.
'We are subsisting on fog and dew:' Tofino faces a water crisis
Outdoor water use is banned, and a packed town hall meeting Tuesday night was told that if the drought persists in Tofino, more drastic measures will be on the table
