My whole life I've avoided singing, because my singing voice was terrible and my registry was like, I dunno, three notes. But the past two years or so I've started singing a bit more at home, like actually putting a little bit of effort into it. And it's fun.

It takes years to master the way each note associated with a portion of a word produces its effect. This is in the context of a complete phrase and a multitude of notes and, of course, your breath. There are very few indications in a score compared with the whole body that you have to master.
