#TBT 4 EDDIE
"Andy! Post the clip with this amp of you jamming in your Chucks! Pretty please. :-)"
Actually, the clip with the shoes (which aren't Converse but Adidas) was made with another, even smaller amp ALSO found on the street. Sadly, it eventually died and could not be fixed. But not before this video was made. :-)
#TBT Deadlift king, mentor, friend – all rolled into one!
📸 2007 photo is with Archie B., a Boston weightlifting pioneer. Beneath his unassuming exterior lay a record-breaking athlete with a chest full of championship titles. I met him at the YMCA in the early 2000s, where his gentle guidance would lead me far beyond the iron.
He taught me to lift both weights and spirits, leaving a lasting impact on my life. 💪🏾
My dad, my sister, my mother and myself walking along a path up in Puncak (the mountains south of Bogor where expats and well-off residents rented bungalows for the weekend).
1969 maybe? How old do I look there?
(and I'm not going to go into analysis of how our walking arrangement could be seen to reflect what was going on in our family at the time, fully unknown to me then of course)
#TBT 1979. Nothing like coming back to your old high school a few years after graduation and kicking ass in a rock band. Our cover of #Santana's cover of the great #Zombies tune She's Not There.
One of the earliest photos of me for #ThrowbackThursday and this would have been perhaps a sunny October evening in 1971 on Southsea seafront where my parents lived in a flat for the first couple of years of my life.
This is Toshiko Yuasa (1909-1980). She was the first woman physicist from Japan. It's 1940 & with her science prospects at home blocked by gender prejudice, she'd managed to get into wartime Paris to do physics research...
For Throwback-Thursday and #Hanukkah, we are revisiting our 2020 video orchestrating Salamone Rossi's 1623 Ha-shirim Asher Li-Shlomo (Songs of Solomon) with synthesizers. Enjoy! 😺🎹🕎📺 https://youtu.be/WR_W1AhvE4Y#TBT
My friend @jwsmithphoto and I spent a day exploring various areas along the Borrego-Salton-Seaway and these are the Borrego Badlands, seen from Vista del Malpais.
Throwback to one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. My wife (fiancée at the time) sitting inside Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. Taken 12th June 2008 with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi.
15 years ago today I was at the first Barcamp Liverpool.
It was a super important event for me, as it brought together a huge cross-section of the city's (and beyond) geeks to share stories and knowledge and get to know each other.
It's also where I first met some of the folk who were co-founders of @DoESLiverpool. And also where the seed for DoES itself was planted.
