Into The Dome

The San Francisco Palace Of Fine Arts is one of ten structures of this nature built for the 1915 Pan-American Exposition in San Francisco California.
The building was built to resemble a decaying Roman ruins. The Rotunda is 162 feet tall and makes a beautiful centerpiece for the park and surrounding areas. See the full image herre: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/into-the-dome-bill-gallagher.html

Got up very early, hiked in the dark and patiently waited to get this shot at 6 in the morning. Delicate Arch before the zillions of visitors come.

Throwback to one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. My wife (fiancée at the time) sitting inside Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. Taken 12th June 2008 with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

Might be heading out to Utah with Jayden this October… fingers crossed.

She’s never been to a so we’re gonna try to hit , , , and NPs.

The rough plan is to fly into Salt Lake City, rent a fun car, take the 3.5hr trip to Moab, and post up there for a few days as our base camp.

Ideally I’d love to meet Jayden out there in the Miata, but I just don’t think the timing will work out. Oh well, hopefully we can rent a RWD convertible.

A 66-year-old Texas man whose body was found in Arches National Park is believed to have died of heat stroke while on a trip to spread his father’s ashes, according to his sister. https://kutv.com/news/local/texas-man-on-trip-to-spread-fathers-ashes-dies-of-heat-stroke-in-utahs-arches-national-park

ai6yr,

"James Bernard Hendricks, 66 of Austin, was hiking in the park and likely became disoriented from a combination of heat, dehydration and high altitude, according to sister Ruth Hendricks Bough."

Taken on my walk yesterday. This is Hewenden Viaduct, a former railway bridge. Its 120ft high, hard to capture on camera, even with the 12mm lens I used for this! The foundations are another 65ft deep so its a huge structure! One of the tallest viaducts in the UK i think .
