Looking up at the stars at night. I still can’t fathom beyond our spec of dust we love on. So much more out there to learn and discover and understand.

I cannot hear what you are not saying.

I do not read minds.

And I never, ever, ever want to be able to read minds.

the internet fanbase communities have taught me there is a point where you love something so much you basically hate it.

PSA to the Internet:
Star WARS is about the timeless theme of the hero’s journey and the battle between good and evil.
Star TREK is about our ability to overcome our prejudices and work together toward a common goal.
Just because they’re both in space does NOT make them the same thing, nor does it mean one is inherently better than the other.

"This kind of mutual recognition provides the catalyst for a potent alchemy."

Something beyond all reason. That's what it is. Strange and beautiful.

What if
What you think
Is happening TO you
Is happening FOR you
What is it trying to teach you
What do you have to know
What if the path
It sends you
Is a place
You are meant to go

Humans are 80% water. So every time you drink a glass of water, you are engaging in cannibalism.

a book entitled Fade to Grey: Not/Yet Another Book about Goth, which rejects a "purist" attitude to the genre and subculture and instead fully embraces "goth-adjacent" artists and works like, say, Echo and the Bunnymen (a band with some that goths listen to but which no one really labels as such)

maybe a sign of maturity is going past the sometimes-annoying larger-than-life self-seriousness and earnestness of musicians like Bono and Sting and rediscovering what I used to love about records like Nothing Like the Sun and The Joshua Tree (this might even get me to start listening to Coldplay)

So now the videogame software industry wants to use facial recognition software to "verify" that kids aren't playing M17+ games.

Of course the real reason is to harvest more personal data.

Sometimes, I look around at everything that's going horribly in the world, and I just get frustrated and, or, depressed. But I'e been working hard, lately, to remember to return to my breath. I can do more good in the world if I am steady, if I am capable of holding the path and not giving in to sorrow, anger, or despair.

Creation--the act of creativity--seems to me the best path forward. To forge a better world, we are required to become our better selves - which is not to say our "improved" selves - but, rather, our most holistic self.

Some days are going to be overwhelming.

And these systems around us won't vanish without a fight.

But maybe I can learn to be at peace in the middle of that fight.
