I don't know why the state of is bound and determined to build a port on toxic, sensitive wetlands when there's plenty of toxic, hyper-low-density industrial land around Magna. Heck, the Church has an enormous empty plot right next to the UP Intermodal. Let that be your port.

Shafer Trail Road in Canyonlands National Park in Utah is not for the faint of heart! This challenging 1 lane road with 2 way traffic descends 1500 feet down a massive cliff canyon. I captured this scene during sunrise.

🦾 Utah Locals Are Getting Cheap 10 Gbps Fiber Thanks To Local Governments

"Tired of being underserved and overbilled by shitty regional broadband monopolies, back in 2002 a coalition of local Utah governments formed UTOPIA — (the Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency). The inter-local agency collaborative venture then set about building an “open access” fiber network that allows any ISP to then come and compete on the shared network."

Everyone wants to go where the view is, but the thing is, the view isn't in just one place.

Lots of people hike Angels Landing Trail in Zion National Park, because there's a fantastic view. But if you step off the trail and take another, less well known one, you still get the view.

Without the crowds.

Over 4,000 troll reports were submitted to the GOP's Utah bathroom spy site, says the state's auditor.

“I would assume the Legislature probably didn’t think through what kind of public backlash might happen,” State Auditor John Dougall said Friday.

This is from my very first visit to this amazing place. I was in such awe I only managed to take a couple photos. I've since been back many, many times and have many, many wonderful photos (some of which I've already shared here and more to come, I'm sure.)

Cliffs and crags and rocky reaches -- from my perch I see it all.

After climbing to the heights, I stand at the overlook and survey a kingdom of rugged palisades, daring the traveler to traverse.

It is an eagle eye view, and for this moment, I pretend that I flew here, before I turn back to the trail and continue, step by step, to hike.

A forest in Utah made of a single tree known as Pando has 47,000 stems and has amassed 6,000 metric tons of life in its thousands of years on Earth. It’s the largest living organism on the planet in terms of mass. Naturally, something that large and old has something to say, and recordings released this year let us “hear” it like never before. The view from above, the view from below, the view from in between -- we gain perspective from every step we take.

As we move from one spot to another, we see things that were hidden from sight before. If we refused to budge, we wouldn't know they were there.
