"He loops in crazy figures half the night
Among the trees that face the corner light.
When he brushes up against a screen,
We are afraid of what our eyes have seen:
For something is amiss or out of place
When mice with wings can wear a human face."

Grey-headed flying fox
The #bat is captured in flight, just a few centimeters above the surface of the water, its wings sharply defined as it flaps them energetically. Its reflection can be seen on the surface of the water, adding another layer of beauty and detail to the photograph.
Fluffy marshmallows with eyes, the Honduran White Bats are endemic to South America, including Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Specialist frugivores, they feed almost exclusively on one fig species. They construct "tents" out of understory leaves by strategically cutting the leaf ribs with their teeth, and roost there during the day, often huddled up with friends. The secret behind their yellow skin pigmentation may have research applications for understanding and treating macular degeneration in humans.
Day 4: Vampire from Mabs Drawlloween Club
You caught them mid flight - this is a very important vamp with somewhere to be so BAT was the only way to go!

When you just sit back & witness magnificent nature, doing its natural things 🥰
Don't forget to stream Good Omens (Seasons 1 and 2), give them good ratings, keep sharing it across social media and support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes to help make Season 3 happen! The writers and actors deserve a livable income and reasonable work hours/conditions, as well as the opportunity to make the high-quality art they want to share with the world 💚
To celebrate 500+ Kabbidges, here's the cover of "Song of Lament" from Elden Ring I promised. We are now halfway to my face reveal at 1,000 Kabbidges, thank you so much for all your support over the years! 🥬🦇💚
Endangered #bats may be rebounding in #Maine - Bangor Daily News
Maine's eight bat species are on the species of special concern list and three are on the state endangered species list, including the little brown bat, the northern long-eared bat and the tricolored bat.
Apr 24, 2023
"Early signs indicate that Maine’s endangered little brown bat population may be rebounding. This is good news considering another species, the northern long-eared bat, joined the federal endangered species list last fall and the tricolored bat has been proposed for the federal list."
