This week's #Monsterdon movie is CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN (1955), by a goddamn landslide. It's about a Nazi creating atomic zombies to help a mobster regain power? That actually sounds kind of cool, I wonder how they'll flub it. Long talky scenes? Big slabs of silence? Misogyny? All this and more, I have no doubt.
Really enjoyed Richard Linklater's latest film, Hit Man. Powell has more range than I originally gave him credit for (+he co-wrote and co-produced!). Glad it still had time for the odd Linklater "deep" convos too. Recommended 😎 #MovieNight#Cinemastodon
Watched Perfect Days (2023) by Wim Wenders. I liked it. Recommended if you like contemplative films like Paterson (2016) and/or Lost in Translation (2003).
Today, June 6, at 6 in the morning, a young boy named Damien is born. He is quickly adopted by Ambassador Robert Thorn without the knowledge of his wife Katherine (The Omen, 1976)
Once again it is an hour until #Monsterdon, the weekly monster movie watch party. If you want to avoid a bunch of toots about a hokey sci fi flick, block the tag.
This week features STRANGER FROM VENUS (1954), in which a bug-eyed monster tries to get Earth to turn down the bass! No, I think it's about nuclear disarmament or somesuch.
We start at 9pm eastern, and you can find the movie on Tubi or YouTube. See you there!
NEW VIDEO That only happens in London! How cool is that? Limousines rush at the heliport... Tom confuses the luxury cars and almost gets into the one of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. 🤩
But it all worked out just fine... otherwise we would probably find him in Downing Street No. 10 now.😂
Happy #sunday Friends! 😀
