"Backed by billions of dollars in venture capital and established aerospace giants that include Boeing and Airbus, startups across the world such as Joby, Archer, Wisk and Lilium are spearheading this technological revolution, developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft that could transform the way we travel."
We had brief power outage and I was weirdly excited because I got to test out the V2L feature from our Ioniq5 EV 😎
💡 V2L: vehicle-to-load, it lets you draw electricity from the EV's battery, without needing to start the vehicle.
I bought the adapter a year ago but didn't have any reason to use it. Now that I know it works, I'm gonna keep it in the frunk for whatever emergency reasons.
The third shirt I've bought from @show 's swag store. I agree with the sentiment that we need to make #EV charging more equitable but I mostly bought this one because it's a map of Chicago and that's where my wife is from.
"Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) wants to better understand where EV chargers are needed in Connecticut and how adding chargers might benefit a community. They're collecting feedback through May 31.”
My #homeassistant produced this nice image, because today was totally clear sky and my solar panels were providing full power. It's funny how doing things at home is so clearly visible in power usage.
ABC news have decided to take on the "electric cars aren't really better for the environment" misinfo.
The analysis seems to be fairly thorough, and has been tailored to the Australian situation.
Their conclusion is the lifetime CO₂ emissions for a mid-sized electric SUV are at least 2-3 times lower (depending on state) than a comparable petrol SUV, with the difference becoming larger if the owner has solar power at home.
Says #Hyundai, “We’re trying to make driving an #EV affordable.” I think they’re early to understand a feature of the EVs that US automakers are slow to realize. Disruption starts at the low end, and with high interest rates, the low end needs to be lower. Consumers won’t pay a premium because it’s an EV. The early adopter market is saturated. Manufacturers need to appeal to buyers who are buying for transportation utility. https://www.theverge.com/24163520/hyundai-randy-parker-interview-ev-sales-ioniq-sales
Private Eye highlights the Ev reporting in the Telegraph. And why this is just one subject, Ev reporting is a microcosm of how many other issues are reported in much of the press. The next 6 weeks are going to be really special… #ev#ukpolitics
The KIA EV3 looks sharp, and pricing appears compelling. Tariffs on government subsidized China-made #EV are not a “get out of jail free card” for American auto manufacturers. With South Korea adding downward pricing pressure, it will drive consumer adoption. https://mastodon.social/@lackattack/112490868284088698
I had someone telling me about how electric cars are always burning houses down, and I'm like, “Uh, I've had 6 EV now over the past 12 years, and no one I know has had their EV burn their house down.” It does happen, but it’s pretty damn rare. By comparison, fried turkeys burn down 900 houses per year, lol. #EV
