Well let me try this again, again, again here's hoping I stick around this time. This is my #intro/#introductions
My name is Zee, I'm a #trans#genderfluid entity, 90% liquid 10% cardboard. I'm in my 30s #autistic#adhd as fuck and I live with my nesting partner, we are #polyamorous. #Furry and probs a #dragon. Huge #MMO nerd current playing #GW2 and #FFXIV.
Still more existential blues on my Mental Soundtrack today, once again courtesy of Steely Dan, from their wonderful comeback album Two Against Nature (which IMO totally deserved its GRAMMY wins).
Steely Dan is a great band to be a fan of when your brain needs some appropriate Mental Soundtrack for feelings of existential fear-and-loathing. (Which it has needed every day for some time now.)
It's frustrating sometimes that as a cis female, I am only qualified to give my own limited take on #freeTheNipple. I often say, "what more clearly demonstrates the #sexist#misogynist nonsense of #toplessEquality than how #censorship is applied to #Trans#nonbinary and #genderfluid people? At what point do you "look female" or "look male" enough to lose or gain the right to post your #nipples online without them getting banned?"
I struggle with figuring out the verbiage to point out this hypocrisy without it sounding like I'm making assumptions about how non-CIS female-presenting people feel about this. I know posting your nipples on the internet or going without a shirt at the beach/park/gym/etc anywhere that a CIS man would be allowed to without any problem can be embarrassing if not dangerous--at the least, ostracizing friends and family, maybe losing your job; at the most, getting jail time (see the woman in Utah who was charged with "child abuse" for briefly being topless in front of her adolescent step kids while changing out of a drywall-covered shirt) or stalked/physically endangered. It's a big "toothpaste out of the tube" moment that many people don't have the privilege of exercising in protest. So of course I don't blame people for their reluctance to brazenly put their heinous "female-looking nipples" out there for the judgemental, puritanical world to see like I do.
It's just that, as I said at the start, there's only so much I can say about this as a CIS woman. How can I encourage more people who are not CIS to also talk about this, even if they don't show their own nipples?
(I apologize if I've used any problematic terms here--I'm honestly trying my best)
Mental Soundtrack: This song happened to come to mind earlier this evening ... and then I imagined doing it up as drag king karaoke, in Randy's original pitch, and now my brain can't stop giggling. 😎
I would like to know how other #genderfluid people introduce their pronouns. I say either they/she or she/they, with whichever I am that day as the first one. Which probably means nothing to anyone other than myself.
The other day I said "...today it's she, but it changes" and it was really unsatisfying because people can't know when it changes unless I tell them and that's EXHAUSTING.
So weird personal discovery today, I've been thinking I'm gender fluid. I've worn makeup literally as long as I can remember, my earliest memories was wearing my moms makeup, but today I saw this picture of Selena Gomez and it woke something in me. When I look at this picture I see what I want to be. I realize I my soul I'm a girl. #Gender#GenderFluid#transgender#LGBTQ
On my Mental Soundtrack tonight: this showed up in my feed a week ago, and I have to pass that good deed along, as I have been slain by the Black Trans Girl Magic of Honey Dijon. 💖 :heart_transgender:
Turns out that about 10% of Vikings were gender fluid, nonbinary or trans.
(I'm simplifying, of course. The study comes with a bunch of caveats. But: finally, the naturalisation of binary gender based on history cliches is being questioned.)
An admittedly moody stop on my Pride Month musical memory trip tonight, back to former New York Dolls frontman David Johansen's 1978 solo album. As a queer who struggled to fit into any of the labels, these lyrics still speak to me:
"I can't get the kind of love that I want
So let's just dance, and I'll forget..."
Feels like a great sunny 🔆 morning here to say to non-binary people, you simply rock :heart_nb: Let's not assume for one moment that all trans woman don't or can't understand. Some of us really do ...
Recently I've been seeing some amazing selfies from non-binary folk. Forget any narrow "enby" stereotypes, it's magnificent, glorious, mind-blowing. Some Beethoven's 9th level gendering going on, to a level I just want to stand up and applaud 👏 and then stab that ⭐ button twenty times
As a self-identifying GenderSorceress L6 you are still teaching me L7/L8 things on gender ... some of you go so very deep and so honestly in unpacking your gender identity, and omg I love you so much for that! :flag_nonbinary:
How do you all try to stay #private on the internet? I have my own recursive DNS set up, I use a #selfhosted search engine (SearXNG), I run #CalyxyOS of my phone, and I recently just set up my main WiFi network to route outbound traffic through a #VPN... Having some issues with usability with specific websites on that last one though...
Anyways just asking for a friend who doesn't need corporate america to know she's #genderfluid...
Oh duh I also have run redundant piholes and TRY to use Signal to talk w/ folks too!
