#Unilever Plc will keep making #Cornetto and Carte D’Or in #Russia even after shedding its global ice cream unit.
Companies like Unilever condemned Russia’s invasion but finding buyers for the assets of “unfriendly countries” is challenging and incurs a large exit tax. #Mondelez, #Nestle and #Procter & #Gamble are among the Western multinationals that have maintained large operations in Russia.
Bought some more of the wonderful Candy Kittens a couple of days ago.
Whilst in the shop I noticed similar style, chewy sweet right next to them so I got a pack of The Natural Confectionery Co's Sour Squirms and one other.
Once home, I discovered they're nowhere near as good as Candy Kitten products purely because The Natural Conf. Co products are made with Palm Oil.
I won't buy again. Sticking to Candy Kittens which are palm oil free 💕
„Kritik an Russlandgeschäften zwei Jahre nach Überfall auf Ukraine:
Milka-Mutterkonzern Mondelez „sorgt sich um russische Bevölkerung““ #russland#mondelez#milka#schwarwel
#Mondelez Corporation is not going to withdraw from the #Russian market, the company's CEO Dirk Van de #Put has said
He said investors are not pressuring the chocolate maker to leave the country after the invasion of #Ukraine. "I don't think investors are morally concerned about that," he said.
#Cadbury dragging out #union negotiations in the hope that workers will give in and vote for inferior deal
"#Mondelez made more than $2.7 billion in #profits worldwide last year. Paying their workers enough to keep their heads above water and giving them #JobSecurity is the bare minimum this company could do."
For example, some major food companies promised to offer only basic supplies in Russia. But luxury foods from big brands such as ice cream, beer and chocolate are still being sold in Russia.
Furniture giant Ikea has said that it plans to phase out products owned by Mondelez, the company behind #Cadbury , amid a boycott across much of Scandinavia of the confectionary-maker’s products.
It comes as dozens of Scandinavian companies have cut ties with Mondelez, over the tax it paid to the russian government
How many big Western corporations actually are still continuing operating in #Russia and happily paying taxes there to fund all the war crimes and devastation in #Ukraine? #Mondelez is a big one, sure, and #Milka and Oreos sure have an aftertaste of innocent blood. But who else? I'm sure the list is immense.
#Mondelez, who own #Marabou, one of the biggest chocolate brands in Sweden, has been called out by Ukraine for continuing to manufacture and sell in Russia.
I hope Swedish people react like they did over #Absolut vodka.
And just discovered that #Mondelez owns #Cadbury chocolate too.
So that's Britain's most famous chocolate brand also implicated in funding Putin's war against #Ukraine.
