The whisky didn't kill the pain.

An old style experiment.

On agency, independent alternative artist reach and voice and a new old classic.

We were excited to have quite the pent up hiatus breaking pile of remixes (some already out), sample and sound collections, EPs, ALBUMS and a covers project done, approaching done, or well in the build pipeline.

The timeline for indy artists wanting to avoid walled gardens, coupled with the bandcamp incidents, recent and still inflamed fedi admin wars might leave us wondering how or if we should even share.

Feel like I’m still catching up from vacation last week - that’s the

Dark Truth fits the mood with a dark lead, notes of coffee and chocolate and a smooth 60 IBU finish that feels less bitter than expected

Just playing around with light last night! The bokeh on this lens is so nice! First image is playing with bokeh, the second is playing with light and lack thereof.

In the distance, the lights of the coastal city twinkled and glowed, casting the veriest reflection on the water. While up above, the full moon bathed the seascape in its silver luminescence. Warm and cool, both contributed their magic.

I was a car passenger and saw that scene, my iPhone in my hand, zap! Heavily processed. Urban exploration takes many forms.

Well, I've farted around enough with my blog's layout and theme, I'd better get to writing.

But before I do. Should I add an optional "Dark Mode" CSS?

Edent,
@Edent@mastodon.social avatar

@Meyerweb oh, interesting! So I could do something like:
body:has(#dark-mode-input::checked)?

I might wait for FF to catch up - and then look at the local storage option.

I know photography is about capturing light. There isn't much here, but that was the point. Spookiness comes out of the darkness™.

In 2020 we rented a country house, and in the forest nearby, there was this abandoned cabined. It was really a spooky place. #spooky #spookyvibes #spookymood #darkness #dark #blackandwhite #blackandwhitephotography #abandoned #abandonedbuilding

I have a day off, which is awesome.

It's , which is also awesome

except I desperately need to be MAKING music today for the upcoming album, and it's hard to do that while LISTENING to music

so I'm committing to my choices early (it's only 0715 here) so I can get on with the music MAKING

First up--via generous gift code-- a pre-order of the upcoming Throne of Decay from @GravesHollow

The picture element for unexpected art direction
by @anniegreens documents an elegant solution for making sure images match light and dark themes without using JS.

The example of bright screenshots on dark screens is something that I’ve noticed. Despite that, I’m not sure I’m ready to sign up for creating duplicate screenshots because, well, I’m lazy.

But this <picture> solution kinda makes me want to overcome my laziness and do it. It’s that cool.

@anniegreens @grigs @kizu (The art direction trick is also documented here: https://web.dev/prefers-color-scheme/#art-direction-with-dark-mode.)

For the JS case, see https://web.dev/prefers-color-scheme/#dark-mode,-but-add-an-opt-out. This color scheme toggle custom element sends an event whenever the toggled scheme is changed: https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/dark-mode-toggle?tab=readme-ov-file#events.

For the native scheme change, you can be notified as outlined here: https://web.dev/prefers-color-scheme/#reacting-on-dark-mode-changes.
