Inspired by the core gameplay of Minecraft, the name MineClone2 was not a particularly good one and it seems the developers were aware and so it's gone through a rebrand to be now called VoxeLibre.
Built on the free and open source Minetest game engine, it's one of the most popular voxel sandbox open-world games around as an alternative to Minecraft. As they announced on their Git page about the renaming
#Mineclone2 has updated it's name to #VoxeLibre. Since the developers were nice enough to invite me to their discord and chat with me, I figured I'd support change by updating my title card for my play through 😁
Been playing #MineClone2 on #MineTest as I'm on a #RPi. So far I suck, I think the beginning game is harder on MineTest then #Minecraft. But It's sill fun.
Is there a Minetest package similar to Minecraft but doesn't try to clone it?
So I upgraded the hole in front of my door in #Minetest / #Mineclone2 to be 2x3 instead of just 1 block, so that spiders will fit. I also replaced the trap doors with sticky pistons because since trap doors sort of work like ladders, mobs would be pushed right up against my door and then even when I opened the trap doors, they would just sit there bouncing up and down using the trap door itself as a ledge/ladder to stand on, instead of falling into the hole.
@Wuzzy Thank you for your work, I enjoyed very much #Mineclone2 and #HadesRevisited when I played it.
I would just like to make a recommendation about Hades: that one can build, with complex elements, a radio to ask for help (or a rocket) and “win” the game.
