Completely forgot it was until this evening 🤦‍♀️

I wasn't going to do anything, but then I saw a post by @sunflower & felt obliged to do so 😅 :TransHeart:

I skipped last week's session, due to last Thursday's "events", but I'm looking forward to today's 2 hour session. This will be my 8th session & bring my cumulative total to 11 hours.

I've just plastered my mouth & chin in numbing cream, then covered it in cling film, in preparation for the spicy needles 😅

CW: direct eye contact

Another selfie of me against a teal wall. I'm wearing my Scout Darcey glasses frames, an estradiol molecule necklace, & a dark navy sleeveless top. My mouth & chin are white from a thick layer of numbing cream, & are covered with cling film (plastic wrap).

Who wants to guess what my hormone levels will be when my test results come back next week?

My last results in October 2022 were:

• Estradiol - 3178 pmol/L
• Testosterone - 2.4 nmol/L

This was back when I was doing ~0.15 mL (6 mg) of estradiol enanthate weekly alongside a 12-weekly triptorelin injection.

I'm now doing 0.125 mL (5 mg) of estradiol enanthate weekly & boofing a 100 mg progesterone capsule daily.

What do you reckon?

Giving flowers: 💐 One of the nice things for me is being able to send surprise flowers to women around me as a pure thank you, like today

My wonderfully accepting hairdresser has been with me since Nov '21 and I am her first trans client. She is a Muslim born in Iran so not merely have I been on a journey, she also has been on a journey (of understanding) ... let's say we've shared quite a bit! ❤️ 💜

Her reply today is so lovely and of course we'll catch up in a few weeks. So look after those supporters close to you, the special ones, because omg you'll need them ✨ ✨ ✨

Exciting morning goes like 🚗

  • Read up on changing name and gender on my UK driving licence (form D1)
  • Find I can't do it online so :ms_swearing: and go out and
  • Get photocopies of UK Deed Poll made
  • Get ID photos taken. Pay
  • Omg, decide they were actually so bad :ms_swearing:
  • Chuck photos in the nearest litter bin 🗑️
  • Buy Postal Order (it's like a paper check , for non UK peeps)
  • Swear at UK Govt for not taking online driving licence payments in 2023 :ms_swearing:
  • More ID photos taken at another place. Bit better this time, praise the lord!! 🙏
  • Fill in form D1, making note to change my Gender as there is no actual field in it because ofc trans people aren't properly handled (sigh)
  • Eat curry :ms_curry_rice: to recover (a Chicken Bhuna)

Not so much as reality is more like ? :flag_transgender:

@amy@spookygirl.boo avatar

Tattoos are how I mark states of being and "staple" my sense of self into my body - the first one, the bite mark, is in a very real way the first baby step I took to transitioning. It was the first time I felt good about something about myself, and now, a couple years later on estrogen, and a bunch more tattoos (and even more planned), I feel good about so many things.

I don't think it's a coincidence that so many things that are counterculture or taboo in society are exactly the things that help people feel a sense of bodily autonomy. I'm sure there are links to capitalism here, but more deeply I think it's about jealousy and hate.

Jealousy from generational trauma that denied our parents and grandparents ad nausem their own (bodily) autonomy, so they projected that onto us so we wouldn't pursue it ourselves, queer or not.

Hate partially stems from the jealousy, but people are also taught to hate these things by many, many social institutions which demand obedience. Religion is one such institution for many, especially evangelical religions, but is not the only such institution. Class structures frequently use things like prohibitions or mandatory body modifications as a way of co-opting what would otherwise be a sense of freedom.

Bodily autonomy is dangerous to systems of control and obedience, because it's the root of freedom of thought, or at least that's what my years of doing trauma work have taught me. When you have time and ability to decide what to do with yourself, you start to form a deeper connection with yourself and others because it's actually safe to do so.

And I think this is sad on many levels. So, don't be sad go get a tattoo.

PSA

Despite persistent myths within the trans community to the contrary, it is NEVER too late to transition :TransHeart: :NonBinaryHeart:

Sure, if you're seeking a hormonal transition, starting on blockers before or during your first puberty will prevent some unwanted changes.

HOWEVER, most folks transition successfully despite having gone through a first puberty that doesn't match their gender identity.

Barroso is a region in northern Portugal, classified as world heritage for agriculture by the FAO - United Nations, one of the few left in Europe where sustainable farming practices are still the rule.

A canadian/british mining company called Savannah now wants to destroy it.

The opening the largest open air lithium mine in Europe, is already planned, and if we do nothing, about to start in 2024.

This will feed German and French electric car production, with a so called value chain crossing all Europe, up to the swedish regions where another war is ongoing, against ore mining and car battery factories.

They have been called lithium wars, and resistance is heating up.

We currently are waiting for the 31 of May, when the Environmental Agency from the government will make a final decision on the Mine, and unfortunately, a YES-GO is expected. There will be resistance!

Although we know that historically Europe has been guilty in the exploitation of the worlds resources, it now is turning inside, selling it's own peasants and native peoples to the trans-nacional businesses. This in no way can be confused with historical reparations, as we do not wish to impose the brunt of the so-called green transition on any people's or ecosystems. The only option is De-growth and the end of consumerism and extractivism, not Green Capitalism and electric cars.

This just helps the fossil and gas economies to thrive, by on the one hand, not offering a real solution, and on the other, trying to create a mentality which says that opposition to green capitalism is reactionary.
