@Miro_Collas @faab64 @palestine the EU signed a gas deal with Israel in 2022. There are also trade agreements, and there's, of course, Israeli surveillance tech and weapons, and military cooperation. Always useful to have European police and military trained in suppression when further consequences of the climate crisis hit.

De VVD onder Bolkestein en Rutte hebben de weg voor de PVV geplaveid door de rechtsstaat, en de macht van het Parlement, te ondergraven met al hun schandalen. Dat Rutte het kabinet juist op "migratie" liet vallen, was een 1-2je voor Wilders. Rutte kent de politieke onderzoeken ook waaruit komt dat bezuinigingen en "migratie" stemmen voor extreem-rechts opleveren.
Mehreen Khan (FT correspondent) schreef: "Trumpisme is uitgevonden door de VVD." Hij illustreerde dat met een uitspraak van Bolkestein in een interview met Ian Buruma, waarin Bolkestein uitlegt dat mensen de haat van Nederlanders richting Marokkanen en Turken onderschatten, en hij zijn goede politieke loopbaan te danken had door juist naar die haat te luisteren. Datzelfde racistische mechanisme gebruiken de BBB en NSC ook. En zo gebruiken ze de zelf-ID wet en "wokisme." Prik door het fatsoenlijke uiterlijk heen en je ziet daar 4 varianten van autoritair-rechts staan. De rechtsstaat en mensenrechten zijn een veel betere politieke maatstaf dan iets als fatsoen, IMO.

Last year, after a WWII veteran died, his family members discovered 22 stolen Japanese antiques in his attic. These included a hand-drawn map, ceramics, and portraits of Okinawan kings, some dating back as far as the 1700s. On Friday, the FBI announced that the artifacts were on their way back to Japan. NPR has details of what happened, and images of the items.

In this context, Incarceration is not only related to prisons and prisoners, but touches upon every aspect of our life. From the moment of birth, Palestinians must contend with being criminalized for existing. We are surveilled and censored, our oppression normalized, and our bodies corralled into various open-air and closed prisons.

Such tactics have always revealed more about the jailor than the prisoner, and the logics inherent to the carceral apparatus are shared between all oppressive forces. While the goal is to project strength and power, what it divulges instead is fear, insecurity, and self-doubt. Resorting to locking away the inconvenient reminders of a crooked system betrays its weakness, a society unable to function without constructed villains onto which the world's ills can be pinned.

Just to understand the BS of Biden about a port in Gaza, remember that there are these land entries into Gaza available RIGHT now.

It's truly sickening to read and listen to all the nonsense about Biden using American Navy to set up a port of "entry" into Gaza while ignorijg the fact that there are 7 points of entry to the besieged Gaza, with over 130 trailer trucks waiting to be approved by IDF in Rafah and 100s of Jewish extremists blocking the passage of trucks via Karam Abu Salem border crossing.

The goal is not to help palestinians, it is to set-up military access and a way to deport Palestinians from Gaza in the name of humanitarian intervention.
