NickEast

@NickEast@geekdom.social

Aspiring fantasy author and geek, with a bunch of chronic illnesses.

The Last Philosopher is my first book under the subtitle, Nothing is Everything.

It's been called imaginative, funny, and unique. People have even gone so far as to compare it to #DouglasAdams and #TerryPratchett.
My response to that comparison, is to go hide under the covers for a week with embarrassment.

Posts about writing, reading, books, libraries, and geekstuff.

Oooh, tough choice, but more likely I kidnapped myself so I could meet one of them... but I still can't choose just one 😂

Can I have some fleeting passions with a somewhat changeable base of continuity? Please, and thank you... 😂

Reader/writer question: In fiction what are some of your favorite worldbuilding details, the kind of thing you think is underused and underrated?

My chronic illnesses are having one of those, we're too tired to do anything days. Or more like week. 😂
I just wish it didn't have to mean that my mind takes it upon itself to make me feel bad about not doing enough. 🤔

I think I might prefer some of these nonspecific editions, I like my fiction a bit unspecified 😂

As not a role model I endorse this horror vs fantasy theory of writing.
But what if when you go through the portal, the portal also goes through you? 😜 😆

Give me your poor, your tired, your book quotes yearning to be free... February 29th edition 😁

I'd prefer quotes from your own work, but it can be from any author or book you'd like to share...

Here's my example:
“Philosophers can be both imaginative in their ignorance and ignorant of their ability to imagine.”
-Attercap Skvosip, survivor
From The Last Philosopher

Elves, Trolls and Elemental Beings a collection of Icelandic folktales.
The stories were so so in quality even if I always find lore interesting.
But I found myself curious the theme of missing people? Was children and people going missing super common in these times? Because why else would it be such a common theme in the folktales?
